Ladies and gentlemen, your Steam keys are ready. NOTE: the game is not live until Tuesday. You can pre-load the game now but it cannot be played until Tuesday. We are unable to activate it early.

Please follow these directions:
Go to this address <->
Log in in the upper right if you are not already logged in. (If you don't have account yet, make one with the same information as your Kickstarter login.)
Click "Download game" if it isn't already on the right screen.
You will receive your Steam code.
Open your Steam client (the software, not the website)
Click on "Add a game" on the bottom left, or Games on the top tabs and then "Activate a product on Steam..."
Enter the Key you received from the website (you can cut and paste)
Your copy will begin downloading in your Steam library.
You're ready for Tuesday!

If you have any problems, don't freak out! Contact us with your user name at help@stoicstudio.com and we'll get it fixed. We'll be on-call to fix any issues as soon as possible.

A DRM-free version of the game is under development now and we are still working with GOG to distribute soon. This will also be available to all backers even if you downloaded a Steam copy.

After this we will begin porting the game to platforms other than PC and Mac and keep backers up to date as they become available.

Thanks!
Stoic

** Im keeping my opinion to myself about this, but im really not very happy i will say this though, why didnt they wait til the drm free copy was complete and launched both at the same time?
Under development ? What a shame :) I laughed so hard . This is really big shame if they haven't DRM-free version already .

I changed my opinion after I read their AMA on reddit - they are team of only 3 people, and just one of them is programmer... so once they decided to use Steam because of BS Factions and biggest audience, which is fully understandable for me, now he have to remove all Steamworks related stuff and test it - so it will take some time.. plus he will probably have to deal with some bugs after launch on Steam...

I really hope to start playing it soon, but also can wait week or two for DRM-free version...
Only one thing I do not like about it is, that GOG still keep it in secret, loosing a lot of customers, who like GOG, but as they still don't know that it will be released here "soon", drm-free version is not that big added value in compare to pre-order bonuses on Steam...

Is there a transcript of the AMA thing somewhere?. Did they say much about drm free?. Seriously... how hard was it to have steam and non steam worked on side by side....

It's here: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1uvv7p/we_are_stoic_studio_and_austin_wintory_composer/
Good to know they're working on the GOG version, guess I'll download on steam first and then play the GOG version once it's available.

If it's still up -- What about GoG.com? Will the game appear there? When? Seems like no pre-orders there...

We had some delays with GoG. We're still working it out."

Oh joy.
That's the thing isn't it, it's all fine and good if GOG wants to get more new releases here, but if you want to do that, you need to have them on GOG day 1, not day 2, 3, 4 or even later, OR if there's a pre-order with a pre-order discount, you need it when the pre-order launches on Steam, because if you leave it too late then many people without patience will have already purchased it on Steam. Yes they'll be people like myself who will wait till it's on GOG, but then again there's also many who won't wait. How can you possibly have a delay literally like 24 hours before release when this game was one of the big funded projects on Kickstarter and GOG has had well over a year to talk to them about distributing it here.

I'm not saying this because I personally am really that interested in this game, it's just a general observation of the sloppy way GOG is handling new releases in recent times.

For a lot of people (okay, talking about myself, but I assume I'm not alone) it's not just impatience. If GOG were just to announce "Game X is coming, but it will be on Y date", I would wait. When they don't announce anything ahead of time, I just buy the game where I know it's available...and then curse the heavens if it later comes to GOG. This has happened a few times to me.

I understand the argument that they may not be allowed to announce by the publisher/dev, but that doesn't seem valid to me. All (and I mean ALL) other digital stores seem able to announce ahead of time.
high rated
Yes, that too. GOG rarely uses the "Coming Soon" section thing anymore. At least that would let everyone know that the game IS coming to GOG, especially for people who are excited to buy the new title but would prefer to buy it on GOG. It's just the lack of information.

Can't register on their forums because they think I'm a spammer. I need to contact them to get my key.

I think it's developer related problem . Actually they don't have a DRM-free version . Nothing GOG related .

Nope, the game has no DRM, which has been confirmed since their Kickstarter campaign over a year ago.

They would seem to disagree

"A DRM-free version of the game is under development now and we are still working with GOG to distribute soon. This will also be available to all backers even if you downloaded a Steam copy. "

And cyboff posted this insight:

"I changed my opinion after I read their AMA on reddit - they are team of only 3 people, and just one of them is programmer... so once they decided to use Steam because of BS Factions and biggest audience, which is fully understandable for me, now he have to remove all Steamworks related stuff and test it - so it will take some time.. plus he will probably have to deal with some bugs after launch on Steam... I think Crosmando pretty much summarized my thoughts on the subject.

I backed this game, and one of the first things I've checked was the stance on DRM-free, here's what the FAQ had to say on that.
It didn't mention GoG specifically, just that we would have an option to download it DRM free.

Now why doesn't it release on GoG at the same time as Steam? I have no idea, but I can think of many reasons off the top of my head, so I won't assume anything and just be glad the DRM free option is done via GoG. Also note that the GoG key is going to be on top of the Steam key so you don't have to choose one or the other.

Anyway, I think the only thing we can regret is that GoG didn't advertise this release a bit more, as it can indeed mislead people into buying it elswhere when they might have preferred to buy it here.

Anyway I'm excited for this release, the atmosphere of this game seems really nice.
Also after I tried F2P game , it's filled with many bugs , crashes . I will probably pass this game .
