I don't under GOG at times. NONE of us know how many pre orders for games (if any) GOG receives, but it should be an option at least for people.It has been mentioned quite a few times people who have bought a given game elsewhere on release when GOG was a bit slow on selling that same game.I love GOG but mentality imho needs to change a little bit (i love surprises but a game thats available on pre order should really be made available same time here (given they had already come to agreement to sell the game here)

Well Hell, here I've been tootling along in my riverboat through Fool's Paradise, assuming this game was a done deal for January 14th. Not it might not be? That fracking sucks if so, as I have really been looking forward to this one.

No I say that, IMO, if they don't do pre-order very often it's probably more because of "contractual" reasons rather than them wanting do "surprise releases". I suspect that it's probably often linked to their "same price everywhere/no region restriction" policy like what happens with Daedalic games.

The reason it's not coming to GOG is the price. GOG doesn't allow indie games to be priced $25. That's why no Xenonauts on GOG either. The developer of Xenonauts wanted it here but GOG refused them, and no doubt the same scenario with Banner Saga too. So blame GOG not the developer.

It would be a real shame if this game doesn't make its way to GOG. It would be a great addition to GOG's catalogue. However, I'm happy to wait. If The Banner Saga is eventually released on GOG, good, I'll buy it. If it's never released on GOG, too bad, I won't play it. God knows my backlog is bad enough as it is, I can live without yet another game that will sit in my queue for months.

I think combat will play a very large roll in this game but on the other side of it you have all the dialogue descions you need to make which effects your party and hero allies and then travel. This game sounds like it has a fair bit in common with King of Dragon pass.

This was posted almost a year ago in Project Update #33: So, we have known for quite a while now that a DRM-free release will come after the original release date. Once more, we will have to wait a while longer, but I personally do not consider that to be a problem. I would rather have a late DRM-free release, than no DRM-free option at all. Plus, since the combat spin-off Factions is an MMO, it is reasonable that their base game is integrated with Steam.
