Any Kickstarter backers here? Have they said yet when exactly it's going to be on GOG?

Niggles: The game is supposed to be a very solid single player game though.
Formerly known as nijuu so far it's great.

It's gameplay is pretty much what I expected it to be, and the visuals are really nice and polished. But the main thing I like about it so far....

It's FUN!!

As in I am enjoying playing it. lol.

I think Reviewers need a fun factor.

Not heard anything new yet.

Did anyone else from here back and get a crest design in the game?
Glad to hear some are enjoying the game, but I was disappointed and turned it off after about 45 minutes. I'll give it another chance tonight.

What was it that made you feel disappointed within 45 minutes?

I don't want to be overly negative as there are some good aspects to it and it's not like I played it a whole lot - and I do intend to give it another chance - BUT since you asked, I will elaborate on my first impression of the game:

I found the writing/dialogue to be kind of painful/distractingly bad, as though it were written by someone for whom English was a second language. This isn't necessarily a huge problem but is something that is important to me personally, so I was turned off by it.

I wasn't impressed by the gameplay mechanics, which is harder to elucidate - and felt they weren't explained very well at all; like it tells you how to move and attack but that's pretty much it, which was a missed opportunity in a SP campaign in my opinion. There just doesn't seem to be much to it. I've played flash games that had tactics gameplay that I enjoyed far more.

The graphics, sound and animations are solid though.
Do you create characters in this, or are they are all pre-set?

They're all predetermined, there's no character generation or selection.

That's like saying Final Fantasy tactics was just move and attack. Every character has unique abilities they can use, and some combo very well with others, some characters give defensive bonuses when standing next to each other. Other characters have the ability to actually move through characters for better positioning, some abilities move characters a little or a lot (one bashes them back for 4 spaces doing more damage the more characters it gets bashed through, but if wanted can also be used on friendlies if the situation requires it). Others have line attack abilities hitting every single person in that line but combo well with characters of your own that mitigate damage. (to use for cover). etc etc

Ehhhh... so more like a strategy game then
I'm wondering what are the difficulties in releasing a DRM-free version of a game, so that the DRM-free version is delayed.

Did they start with the copyprotection, then adding the game and now patching the DRM-protection out of the game? :ugly:

I think you should see this game in the vein of tactics games (most of which are on consoles) more than CRPGs and the like. At least that's what I'm getting from most of the people posting their opinions on it.

They had to pull steamworks stuff out of the code, or something

It would be very interesting to know how this works and why the delay. If someone from staff could clarify, or if someone else knows what the process is like, it would be great!

But that is no economic working.
I'd build first the DRM-free version and then add the copyprotection for Steam. So you don't have to add the copyprotection and then remove it again for a DRM-free version. That's twice the work.

But meanwhile the game is already cracked and ready to get pirated. Pirates are really fast in making DRM-free versions.
