Skysect: Also I made some research it's only first chapter of the game for 25$ and there will be second and third . If they selling them with same price , full game will be 75$ for 7x funded game . What an awesome developer :)
That's not exactly correct. I backed the first game ($25), not the other two, as did many others.

How linear is this? I was watching a bit on YouTube and it seemed very much on rails. Does the game open up?

No, it's completely linear since it's about the journey of different groups of people (it switches protagonists every so often)from point A to point B. It has no sandbox elements and you can't explore the world, which makes sense storywise.

You do get to make decisions which can make your life harder or easier on the journey so the game does have some replayability, although the combat gets a bit repetitive.

Wouldn't have a clue, I figured it would have a travel map where you could travel wherever you wanted.

Cheers mate. =) Gives me a better sense of how much I'm willing to pay for the game. It sounds interesting, but I would have preferred some replayability.

I think it's more linear than Shadowrun Returns ;)

Which sort of makes you wonder what it would have been if they only got 1 or 2 x the goal.

Same goes for Shadowrun too, which was about that long if a bit shorter.

My point is the majority of the funds raised went to developing the first game, not all three games.

I think it is supposed to be played a number of times, like King of Dragon Pass. Depending on the decisions you make, each play though will be different.

That's my understanding anyway. If that is correct, saying the game is only 10 to 12 hours long is a little misleading.

Oh course, it just depends ~how~ different the game is depending on choices. I wouldn't expect it to be like Age of Decadence, where just choosing a different background gives you a completely different experience.

The game is supposed to be a very solid single player game though.
I'm 3 hours in (I'm a backer, so I got access to both Steam and GOG versions), and so far I love it.
The game is visually good (espacially the landscapes, which are gorgeous), the soundtrack serves the mood, the combat mecanics are just hard enough to be challenging on normal (it might get repetitive after a while, though, especially with the lack of a terrain factor - for now, all the fights were on an open field, and the only obstacles were my own troops. Not the cluttered battlefields of an "expedition conquistador"), and there are interesting choices to make (allow a band of refugees to join my caravan when I'm already low on food? Ask the young warriors to fight, or send them back to protect the civilians? Use my fame to buy supplies, acquire a magical item or level my characters?) that should ensure some replayability, esp since losing a battle is not supposed to end the game.

And the map (which doubles as the game encyclopedia) is really, really cool
