Requesting pictures of dead animals is not cool. It's just not cool. You're a douchebag if you think it's cool. So, in order to sabotage the uncool Sacrifice giveaway, I'm giving away a free copy of Giants: Citizen Kabuto. This game deserves more attention anyway, and unlike requesting pictures of dead animals, it's cool.

The rules: First, you can only participate in the cool Giants giveaway if you didn't participate in the uncool Sacrifice giveaway, or officially withdraw your participation and show genuine regret. And second, impress me by speaking out against requests for pictures of dead animals.

The winner will be chosen after my fancy, a while after the uncool Sacrifice giveaway ended.

But that stupid, douchebag giveaway of Licurg is not only a new low point on this forum but something where I, an outspoken critic of forum moderation, would have hoped to be closed promptly.

I guess it's more important to speak against animal torturers and people who kill animals just to make those pictures. Without such people there would be no pictures of dead animals. Anyway it's still pretty weird to request pictures of dead animals just because of a videogame giveaway and i don't want to know what was the gifter going to do with the pictures.

Didn't really feel like entering Licurg's since it's disgusting and is a bit of a thin line between that and promoting animal abuse.

I agree that the "post a dead animal" requirement for his giveaway was in (very) poor taste. I'm in for whatever I might win in this giveaway, except for Divine Divinity, since I already have it.

I don't know anything about Licurg or his moral views (I am new to the forums), but animals are tortured and killed all over the planet every single day. Showing some images that remind us of that sad reality might be disturbing, but it's not immoral. I posted a picture of the King of Spain after having killed some animals in Africa. That caused a huge outcry in Spain. It's a disgusting image. If you assume the participants in that thread "like seeing dead animals" or that is almost "promoting animal abuse," of course you are going to reach that conclusion, but at least bear in mind that it's only your own interpretation, you can't read peoples mind.

And I can't read the OP's mind, but I can easily think that he is just showing off his moral superiority and trying to cause division in the forums. Licurg's giveaway might be in poor taste, I agree with that; but this one is also in very poor taste.

I hope both threads get closed.

While I'd like to have Sacrifice on GOG for completeness purposes (have it on disk) I could not enter that giveaway. It pains me to see dead animals.

Not entering as I have Giants, but to make things even more appealing I'm adding a copy of Fallout 2 to this giveaway!

From what I've seen nothing too gory. Keep in mind I've seen only few pictures though.

I also find any form of real life dead animals (which also happen to include human beings) for recreation of poor taste. But I wouldn't censor a thread of pictures, as I don't really believe that promotes animal cruelty... unless you specifically say "go kill some animals in the street and take pictures to be eligible for this giveaway". Just because you have a picture of a dead animal, doesn't mean it died for the sake of recreation.
