Anyone played this/recommend this for a PS:T fan?
Well, it's not really like PST.

Best comparison is probably to Fallout or Arcanum, if you've played those. It is well balanced, but can be very unforgiving and is unashamedly old school.

I like it well enough, but I could not recommend it for being like PST, so the recommendation has limited weight. There is a demo/ beta you can try before putting any money down if you want.
Anything like fallout is a winner to me. x)
Any chance it will be coming to GOG....one day?.
Bear in mind that the full game isn't out yet (the early access version on Steam doesn't have all areas etc); I'm personally holding off on it until the full release. I think they're aiming to be done with the beta phase in late summer; as I've been following it for at least five years (and I think it's going on ten since development started) don't mind waiting a few more months at this point. :)

I'd say chances are good. ;)

That's not old school, if it was it would be text only. =P
Its a good game, but it is hard, very hard and I have had my characters killed a couple of time during the prologue missions.
As a couple of other folks have mentioned it plays more like Arcanum and Fallout.

This game looks pretty cool. Anyone know about Runemaster?

Same here. I'm operating under the assumption that it will be sold on GOG as well, but if not I'll buy it direct from Iron Tower. but I'd love to be able to see this (assumedly) awesome game on my GOG shelf.
The game has been "almost done" for years now. It's pretty much the DNF of indy games. At least they have a beta/demo out now, but I wouldn't put much stock in any timelines they give for a completed release.

In many cases I'd agree with you, but I never got the impression they were ever saying it was 'almost done'. They seemed to pretty up front about where they were with development and how it was going to be longer before release (at least, tha's what i recall from when I was following development fairly closely). Anyway, I'm pretty confident we'll see it released this year.

That thread does sound it might be a foregone conclusion it will come here (as long as GOG is happy with end product i guess) -- dev's sound like they are big fans of GOG (a huge plus for getting it here ...)

Maybe they've improved in how realistically they assess their progress and how they communicate their status to those following the game. I just remember that when I was following the game they kept telling people they were "90% done", a demo was just around the corner, and a release would be coming later in the year. I think that was around 7 years ago.

Pretty sure it took so long because the whole team were only developing it in their spare-time, all of them worked day-jobs, also they started out as complete newbs with little knowledge of how to even make games. But since the game got on Steam Early Access they have been able to go full-time (or part-time, some of the team are also working on the "Dead State" game, another RPG).

lol - I can see your point. In jumped in 'only' about 4 or 5 years ago, and they seemed to be much more... careful in how they presented how close to release they were at any given point.
