I recently won Maighstir’s giveaway: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_90s_resolutions_are_back_giveaway/ (thanks once again <3). The prize was a bundle where I ended up with two “leftovers” that I already own. The giftcode (GOG) is still usable and contains Fallout and Fallout 2. So I’d like to put them back up for grabs. It'll be my first GOG giveaway but all the thanks should go to Maighstir.

What do you have to do to win? It’s simple really, you just have to say what your favorite piece of entertainment in a post-apocalyptic setting is. It could be a game, movie, literature, comic books etc. Explanation of what you like about said work is welcome but not necessary to take part. There are no rep requirements and the winner will be chosen by random.org sometime during the weekend.

Well, Fallout will be always close to my heart, being the first post apocalyptic game I've played.
I've also loved the Mad Max movies, and the games being inspired by them.. well go figure.
But I've also lived The Fall: Last Days of Gaia... which reminds me, it's an underrated gem and not here, so while at it, let's advertise The Fall.

Stalker is definitely post-apocalyptic... I've also kinda liked Gorky 17, but it can be frustrating at points.

A guitar (and a staple of scores... and a manual on how to read them). Playing an instrument is a skill that you can always improve.

Plus, I wanna get on a hill overlooking the ruins of a once great city and draw ispiration to play a long, sad ballad.

I really liked both Metro games, especially since I'm not into the russian hating thing (which is rather popular here in Hungary). The stealth was disappointing in the first one, but I rather enjoyed it in the second one. Plus they reward exploration, which is welcome in any game.

As far as entertainment goes - Mad Max has it hands down.

But if I were really in that environment, I'm sure new forms of entertainment would evolve

Edited the OP slightly. The games are bundled together and can not be separated as far as I know. If you don't own the games on GOG both will be added to your account. So if you're in for only the one game and have the other on GOG just pass the spare to someone else. If you dont own any of the games on GOG but is only interested in one of them I guess that's fine too since I didnt specifiy it in the original post.

Hmm. My favourite post-apocalyptic works are Fallout 1 + 2. Therefore I am in, just in case the floppies I have them on have accumulated errors by now (which is likely, I think). Thank you for the giveaway!

Post apocalyptic movies I like, besides the obvious ones already mentioned by others, would be "Die Wolke" (The Cloud, don't know whether it was ever translated), The Time Machine and Nausicäa. Each with different kinds of apocalypse.

Not exactly apocalyptic, but dystopian favourites, that feel post-apocalyptic, would be: Equilibrium and Clockwork Orange.

Favorite post-apocalyptic game: Fallout 3. So much to explore...

Favorite post-apocalyptic book: The Road. Most tear-worthy ending since...well, ever!

I've never played any of the Fallout games so really I can't comment about them much, but the most memorable post apocoalpyse game for me isn't really the entire game, but just a part of it.

Chrono Trigger had a very memorable post apocalpyse portion of the game where people were still alive through technology, but constantly starving. When you finally do get to their food stores (blocked by robots obviously) you find all of the food long rotten except for one seed.

For an entire game, I would say the recent The Last of Us. Not for the story, but the pervasive atmosphere and the places in the game. They have quite a bit of subtle touches about how the world as changed if you're paying attention. For as many zombies as there are, its much more fun to just explore.
