Recent discussions have made me realize I've been remiss in thanking you GOG. Apparently I'm not alone however. When I did a search just now before starting this thread, "thank you" and "GOG" returned zero results. That's sad. Let me share a little story with you.
Many years ago I subscribed to Dragon, a magazine for Dungeons and Dragons. Dragon didn't have inserts in their magazine, but in one issue they included a demo CD for Majesty 1. I thought this was very kind of the Majesty people, so I sent them an email thanking them for including the free demo, as it must have cost them a pretty penny to send out all those CDs. They wrote me back saying how surprised and grateful they were. They told me that I was the only person who had thanked them. We corresponded for a bit, and they sent me a custom icon for my desktop.
I remember reading many years ago of a man who rode the train on occasion. One time he was running late and so he had to grab dinner in the meal car. Afterwards, he told the waiter to give his compliments to the chef. The waiter stared at him. The waiter then went back to the kitchen where the chef then returned with the waiter to see the man for himself. The chef told him that he had been working as a chef there for ten years, and not once had anyone ever thanked him for his cooking.
One of the things I've learned in life that I consider a Truth, is that people are very very quick to complain, and very very slow to praise.
When I first joined here, I received several games free with my account. Recently, GOG has also given us another game, Warsow. Though I have yet to play these games and perhaps never will, nevertheless, these were freely given by GOG, something you didn't have to do, and I apologize for not thanking you sooner.
I've read several threads recently where it's been said that people complain to you about the deals you offer and various other aspects of the service here. Having worked in customer service, I know what it's like to have people always have something negative to say. With all the negativity, I thought you might appreciate something positive.
Thank you for the free games GOG. Thank you for restoring ancient games to be playable on modern systems. Thanks for helping increase the happiness in my life.
Be good.
