stonebro: - Everybody who either A) ups their current pledge my at least $15 or B) is already at the $75 level or above will be entered into a raffle to win Tex memorabilia prices, including the original Fedora from the previous FMV games.
What? is that from official news?

EDIT: goddamnit it is. Somebody needs to tell them now that raffles of any kind are illegal on kickstarter.

They are? Why?

EDIT: I'm pretty sure they are only illegal if the sole purpose of the Kickstarter is running the raffle. In essence, what they're saying is that reward tiers should GUARANTEE rewards, not give you a chance at rewards.

Running an overall raffle like this that isn't really part of the tiers is probably still fine. Might be that they'll have to change it to encompass ALL backers though, and not just those who up by $15 or pledge $75 or more, to untie it completely from the tiers. But as long as all of those rewards tiers already guarantee a reward, I don't see why. It's just a chance of more rewards on top of your already existing rewards.

Should be fine.

It could be they just turn the other way for this kindv thing. But in the report button you can report projects for using raffles, and in the faqs under "prohibited items and subject matter" it says:
"Raffles, lotteries, and sweepstakes"

UPDATE:

The campaign has now exceeded the 20% stretch goal thanks to both Kickstarter pledges and PayPal donations. In case you were wondering, the magic number of total pledges for that goal was $540,000.

This means that they will release the game on more platforms as well as with text in more languages.

The 30% stretch goal number is $585,000. The chances that this goal will be reached in the next 50 hours may be a stretch, but latest developments may make it happen still. I just hope some more people can donate; at this time, those who have already donated may not be able to contribute too much more. I have added $15 to my pledge, but that is about it.
Second stretch goal reached :)

One more to go...

Guacamole: Second stretch goal reached :)

One more to go...
Well, it has to be reached on KS I believe for the extra $4k to officially "kick in". I don't know for sure.

I do know a few high backers of the $1000 kind have cancelled their KS pledge and instead opted to pay through Paypal due to bank fees and whatnot though, which might hinder our progress if that is true. If you look at the KS pledged it's been sort of stuck on $540k for hours despite continually gaining pledges, it's because people drop their KS pledge and go Paypal.
I'm sure it will be KS + PayPal. These people aren't playing games, they want to help Tex. Even if they set it up originally to consider KS funds only, they will adapt this if a large part of the money is going to PayPal.

The only time where the KS sum alone mattered was for getting to the original goal, because that would mean funding succeeded, and PayPal could be made available. From that point on there's no sense in treating these funds separately.
I don't know if I've said it already but in the final stretch goal at 30% we will get:
- Expansion of the story (including puzzles, gameplay, locations and characters).
- A live orchestra for the game music
- A dark and dangerous part of Chandler Avenue with severely mutated Mutants
- A Golf Cafe on Chandler providing a side-game within a game

In the Reddit they said the additional story in the 30% stretch goal could include:
“More backstory stuff. As an example, David Wright’s cabin in Pandora was added on toward the end of development. That’s the kind of thing we would add with the stretch goal story stuff.”

For anyone who hasn’t played Pandora Directive, the cabin was actually quite a substantial part of the game where you make some major discoveries. As well as having a lot to explore and do in terms of the gameplay. It is a part of the game that a lot of people find one of the most memorable!
Changes to the Tex Memorabilia draw;

- Everyone who has pledged at least $15 is now entered, regardless of when
- Anyone who upgrades their pledge by $15 counting from the time the announcement was made gets a chance at a free upgrade to the $1000 tier of rewards. This excludes a memorabilia prize unless the drawn backer had already pledge at the $1000 tier. There will be 3 backers in total who receive this upgrade.
^good to see they did checking and are making adjustments. Theyr also not calling it a raffle anymore, instead referring to it as a "giveaway"
I'll just say that I'm currently pledging at the ABOVE $1000 level for this, so yeah. This is a once in a lifetime thing for me. I'll never, ever, ever, come anywhere close to pledging this kind of money to anything again, unless it's a cure to my OWN cancer.

I won't divulge the exact amount but it's more than 10 times what I've pledged for any other KS campaign.

Hope to see this one break 40% above before we're done. And if there are non-pledging lurkers in this thread, chip in that $15. Please. This is the second greatest adventure game series of all time.

When I receive my 5 game codes for the Tex Murphy series on here, I'll host a giveaway, only open to backers of the project that do not yet own the series on GOG.
Hello, again.

According to the latest information, the Project Fedora campaign, through both Kickstarter and PayPal, has earned a total of at least $577,373 US (I cannot give an exact value since the Big Finish guys only update PayPal contribution numbers twice a day).

If you do the math, the 30% stretch goal will be achieved when total funding reaches $585,000. This means we are within $8K of getting what may very well be the greatest expansion of gameplay for Project Fedora - and with just 25 hours remaining.

It is very much possible to reach that goal in that time. It may come down to the wire, but I honestly think it will happen given how people have responded in the last day or two.

It is really getting exciting now.
