sbenrap: This was done by a fan too, probably with guidance from the Tex team as it is considered an official update (and is also telling us a bit of what happened after the ending of Overseer)

Guacamole: I think that's after UAKM :P
It's after both (it's the 1-year anniv. for the UAKM thing ;) ), next episode will tell us a bit about the aliens from PD too.
oh right, duh'
If anyone's unfamiliar with the games and are curious, there's currently a live LP of Under a Killing Moon here: http://www.twitch.tv/sbenrap

Thanks for the mention :)
I just set everything up, but the BacklogJourney tweet already tossed it in the air, so I had to do it.

Day 2 will be tomorrow (around the same time more or less) and I'll notify it on my Twitter as well (@sbenrap).
I don't talk (family is sleeping) so it's just Tex (and my AV software on occasion).
I'll also try and get a more decent page up, but no promises :)
Eeeexcellent. Good luck to your LP ;)
Btw free reps (sorry wish I could promise a free game!) to anyone who can guess where, in which Tex Murphy game, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want" appears.

having finished the Space quest games (thanks to a kindly gogite) It's time to look at these since it's another series I've never played so which to start with people?

Some would say start at the beginning (Mean Streets) and some would say start at the first FMV one (Under a Killing Moon). 's up to you really.
I will go with Martian Memorandum first. It helps you understand a little more about a few recurring characters in UAKM.
It's tough, but I'd say martian memorandum sets you up nicely for the run through :)
I've been playing Mean Streets lately and it's a lot of fun.
The edges are rough with flying around in the speeder, which is pretty cool at first but gets old really fast (and overly long at times), and the occasional filler gunfights.
But the actual adventuring is great and taking down notes gets you (well, at least 'me') involved more in the case. It's also the first game I played that allowed to 'taste' a mouse trap (among other things).

I haven't played the first two (a little before my time), but to be honest, it doesn't REALLY matter where you start. There is an overarching setting keeping all three together, but it's not really relevant. There are many recurring characters, but it doesn't really matter.
Pandora Directive is definitely the best in the series. A masterpiece.
While UAKM and Overseer are both brilliant, I find the former a bit too campy and I don't overly enjoy some of the puzzles in the latter. They are still solid 4.5/5 titles though.

I'd say that it's entirely up to you, but would probably nudge you to start with the dessert (Pandora Directive).

edit: oh and Overseer is a rehash of Mean Streets.

I would suggest you play Under a killing moon, Pandora directive and Overseer in that order :-). Although they are independent games, they are a trilogy of a developing story of hte two main characters. The new game will continue were Overseer left of. But PD is a grand game.
In case anyone wants to see some gameplay - I'm doing a retake of Day 1 of Under a Killing Moon (live stream) here:
