Well that's cool. Looking at the calculation I did a couple of days ago, this project certainly isn't falling behind yet. I worked out they'd need $9371 a day until the end to meet the goal. That was two days ago and in the last 2 days they made over $20,000 each day. It's obviously going to slow down, but it's nice to see they're not falling behind yet.

PMIK: If you don't mind playing the older games then playing them as they were released is not a bad idea: Mean streets, Martian Memorandum, Under a killing moon, The Pandora Detective (um. Directive) then Overseer.

The first two games don't have the greatest writing and puzzles but its just the whole atmosphere. You really feel like a futuristic Private eye. Especially with mean streets, where you need to take down your own notes on real paper and chase down leads. I played that game without referring to a walkthrough once and it was very rewarding.
Writing down your own notes sounds great :) I'll definitely start with those games. Thanks for advice.

SirPrimalform: Even if there was a prequel, I'd say play in order of release as a general rule. Like how I would tell someone to start Star Wars with the Phantom Menace.
Hmm that's true, If I would saw Phantom Menace first, I would be so pissed by Jar Jar Binks that I'll maybe miss the other movies, lol :)

I also can't decide which STALKER should I play first, Clear Sky (prequel) or Shadow of Chernobyl (first from series). Following the rule to play games chronologically by they release date would made my decision making much easier. I'll probably stick to that rule.

But sometimes, it's also interesting to play / watch in story chronological order. I mean, it's interesting experience to watch Star Wars like this I-II-III-IV-V-VI-VII (after you saw it before).

P.S.: Sorry for my english, if it's anybody on this forum who is trying to get more experience by reading or trying learn english grammar from here, better don't learn from my posts :) My english is still very unpolished.

Argh, I missed the "n't" off the end of wouldn't! Luckily you got what I meant anyway. ;)

Yeah once you know the story, watching things in canon chronological order can be interesting (you notice little references and things) but for me I'll always go with release order for the first time because I want to learn things in the order they were written.

p.s. Your English is extremely good even if it's not textbook perfect!

I'll probably do that the same way. After all, I can play it again for a second time in a different order. And I just noticed that I wrote order of Star Wars movies to 7th, what a fail..(Sorry Star Wars fans) I should probably cover my back in upcoming days :D

p.s. Thank you very much :) I'm going to read Alan Wake Files pdf now(from GOG), to enhance language skills.

This is now wildly off-topic, but I wanted to link this article on the subject of Star Wars viewing orders since it seemed pertinent and I think I was directed there from GOG in the first place! As for Tex Murphy, I plan to play the games in release order, once I find the time. I've had them all for a while now, this is as good an excuse as any!

Yeah, it's called the Star Wars Holiday Special.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ... that's impossible!

I have managed to go all these years as a Star Wars fan without discovering that atrocity. Why, oh why did you have to bring to my attention now!?!?

Chewbacca has a family?!?!? His dad itchy, and his son lumpy!! You have got to be kidding!
And what the hell is "life day"

PMIK: delicious ignorance
gameon's link is amusing, but THIS is the ENTIRE special in its uncut, uncensored glory. Watch at your own risk.

This was done by a fan too, probably with guidance from the Tex team as it is considered an official update (and is also telling us a bit of what happened after the ending of Overseer)
