I suppose the tool isn't too terrible.

The fact that you can't PM someone without finding the person on the forum first makes this tool not too brilliant.

Yeah and it would be nice if you wouldn't have to go to your account page to read them. There should be a shortcut from the forum.

Tarm: Yeah and it would be nice if you wouldn't have to go to your account page to read them. There should be a shortcut from the forum.
I could write a Forums Feature Request Story so horrible it will force GOG to implement those features so that I don't write any more horrible stories :P

It is kind of odd that GOG didn't think to include some kind of friends list function or master user directory when they are advertising this as a hybrid PM/IM service. Friends lists and user directories are basic functions of both systems.

Twilight: ahhh, thanks everyone, that was the problem :) I had to clear the cache, it seems Chrome is clinging to its old data way too much.
Same thing was happening with me, so thanks for having the problem earlier so it could be solved. :P

If it is, I must be lord of bad manners because I did that right away.

I too wouldn't mind having a shortcut, or at least a "shorter" cut, as in theory, the link on top of the page IS a shortcut somewhat.

Yes, that and the "IM" part of "PM/IM" made me expect it to look like the chat feature of Facebook and other such sites. That's what instant messaging means to me anyway.

I must add though that this is a vast improvement over not having any way to contact other users at all.

Hmm it is awkward that I can't block you beforehand... again, I should be able to select people I don't want to stink up my account page before they do that.

Think of the "conversations" list as being your "friends" list... :)

Not really the same thing at all, though I suppose it can function like that. It's still too awkward too "add" people to the "friends list" the way they have it set up now.

The current shortcut only works if you have new messages. It's not rare that I read older messages to refresh my memory. Besides it would sorta feel like it's a part of the forum section of GOG. Nitpicking I know.

Yes getting any kind of official PM function is really great and will help the community get more personal and fun. :)
