hedwards: Seems to me that it's irresponsible of them to not know how many copies they've promised and how many they have; that's just supply management. If they're not doing that, then how do they know who is and isn't allowed to get a free copy?
I guess that's indeed the difference between the indie dev that goes out of it's way to build up the community and good will by basic responsiveness (WadjetEye would be the prime example) and the one that hit the jackpot and seemingly doesn't have to anymore.
It seems the overhaul to their website that nixed the store also messed some other features up, without much warnings or consultation. There's a thread on the DoubleFine forums dating back to September of members of the Telltale community that had bailed and were searching for a new "online-home" after the overhaul rendered the TTG forums "less desirable" (the thread was started by a TTG community mod no less).
