I just heard back from Telltale support and they're refusing to honour their collectors' DVD thing. I'm really pissed off about this because as far as I'm concerned I'd already paid for it, I just hadn't paid the shipping yet. If they won't send me my disc then I'm asking for a refund.

EDIT: I should clarify, they've removed all DVDs from their store. They disappeared in September last year when they updated their site. I (and a lot of other people) assumed it was just while they get the new site up and running. I wrote to support and one of the questions I asked was how I order my DVD and they're trying to claim that it was a limited time promotion rather than something all customers are entitled to.

They're just playing hard to get Primal. Give them a kiss, tell them they look sexy, and I'm sure they'll put out (your disc that is).
What the fuck happend to Telltale? They were the nicest company around, geuss thats over.

Well, it's worth a try!

They also managed to disappear Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition (not Tales) from my TTG account. When I get my DVD/refund I'm done with Telltale.
I'm guessing that The Walking Dead is what happened. Once they made fuckloads of money from that they seemed to completely drop adventure games. Also there was never a collectors' DVD for TWD and therefore no way to get it DRM-free.

Not to mention the whole Adventure bundle they put together back in 2010. I'm very disappointed in the way they have gone.
Not to condone this sort of thing, but technically, you didn't pay for the DVD. You paid for access to the games, which you have. The collector's DVDs were offered as a free bonus for people who ordered from TTG directly.
So are they not offering DVDs at all any more, or do they want you to pay for the game again in order to get a physical copy?

I knew something's wrong when they stated they are not interested in making second season of Tales and are happy about leaving the series at a cliffhanger.
Everything from that point just adds to the offence.
Damn, I'm more and more glad I was around for that Christmas Bundle sale thing (also back in 2010 I think). It included nearly everything they had at the time, with DVDs for the 3 seasons of Sam & Max, Wallace & Gromit and Strong Bad, and the shipping for the lot was free :O

Seems like I'd only done business with them back when they were indeed the nicest, and now with them adding the whole Back to The Future season to my account for some reason (oh wait, it's due to that Indie Royale right?), I have a hard time disliking them chaps. Guess I should stay away, to keep the rose tinted TTG glasses.

Doesn't change the fact that the DVD was part of what I paid for. It doesn't matter whether you consider it free or part of the cost, it was part of what was advertised and what I paid for.

I asked how I get my DVD any they said "the only active DVD deals we have going are for The Wolf Among Us, and The Walking Dead: Season Two" as if I'd just bought BttF. It's irrelevant that they don't currently offer a DVD for BttF, it was part of the package when I bought it.

That would be totally illegal here.

There never was one for Sam & Max season 3 either, was there? i was waiting for that one (as I have the first two - I wanted the comic book too, thinking I'd get that together with the third season hardcopy, but perhaps the comic is still on sale).

EDIT: MoP said there was a DVD for the third season, bugger I missed it. And I can't seem to find anything but game downloads now, no comic book for me :-(

The third season disc is on my shelf. :P

Like Tales of MI it's completely DRM-free from what I remember (not even a disc check). BttF and Jurassic Park had discs, I'm fairly certain that TWD was the first series to lack a DVD (unless you count Hector as a full series I guess).

Complain to TTG, they still owe you the disc. Besides, it would back me up. :P

By the way, if anyone's wondering why it took me so long to order the DVD it's because what I used to do was wait until I had a few DVDs ready to order to save on shipping. Unfortunately, BttF turned out to be the last game I bought from Telltale. I skipped Jurassic Park because it looked bad, skipped TWD because of the lack of DVD (and therefore no way out of the online activation) and so I decided I might as well just order my BttF DVD only to discover they've bloody disappeared it!

When did they offer Back to the Future Collector DVDs? What offer are you referring to?

Let me get this straight: you bought it but didn't requested (for whatever reason) the DVD at that time. Now you suddenly demand fullfillment of contract ...
- how much time inbetween are we talking about - game is out 3 years? You can't expect someone to keep paying for storeroom until you see it fitting to collect your stuff years later.
- you stated you just hadn't paid shipping - again, was it mandatory (you failling to fullfill contract requirements) and timeframe inbetween (repeated failling)?
