michaelleung: That is puzzling. Indeed, in any case HL2 should be running even BETTER than TF2. I'm guessing it's something on your end?

anjohl: No idea. I have tried three times to get HL2 going, and it gets all choppy and squirelly ten minutes in.

the maps in TF2 are smaller than the maps in HL2.

However, if he can run Fallout 3, he certainly should be able to run HL2. I could run HL2, albeit a bit choppily in some areas and on the lowest settings, on a computer with 256 mb of RAM and an integrated graphics card - a computer that certainly could not run Oblivion at all.

perhaps it is a soundcard issue then, with the stuttering.

I can't run Fallout 3. I have it, but I can't run it.

Also, I playedthe game on my friend's Steam a while ago (2007)
I guess there haven't been any graphical improvements (I could play it on high), but I heard that there've been lots of updates that fundamentally changed the game.....

anjohl: It's a great deal, for an amazing game. It is also suprisingly easy to run for me, it's actually the ONLY source game I can run at ALL, yet ti runs very smooth.
I am no fan of Valve, but TF2 is easily one of, if not the, best multiplayer games of all time. I usually HATE multiplayer games, but this one is a keeper. I would rather Shattered Horizon tho.....
That being said, ANYONE who *knew* about the deal, and DIDN'T have TF2 before, had the means to buy it. and who doens't have it after this weekend is over is a moron.

The Halloween map was pretty fun, but my favorite classes (Medic, Engineer, Heavy) are all virtually useless in it. I palyed long enough to get the mask and the scared stiff achievement.

On the new map? I find the heavy dies quickly with more than 6 players per team.
