I find this cartoon brilliantly sums up the whole "DUURRRR lets teach creationism in schools" debacle.

Meh. I think it could have been funnier, but it does illustrate the point pretty succinctly.
For that matter, we should teach alchemy and astrology in addition to chemistry and astronomy.
*starts drawing transmutation circles*
The first two have appeared all over the place. The last two are by the same guy who did the video.

The letter from the creator of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster also illustrates some valid points :P

I will often type it as "oh gawd", since for me, it is just an exclamation of surprise, not a religious statement.
I just stick to the good old wholsesome "MOTHERFUCKER!!"

Yeah, NSC's brilliant!
I was actually going to post High Stakes Intelligent Designing, but you beat me to it while I was looking for other vids.
There's also DarkMatter2525. He was inspired to start making videos by NSC's stuff, IIRC.
His take on intelligent design.
The Great Flood.
He also does [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7ggUpyLSpc]serious videos.
And then there's Edward Current.
Nearly forgot: The Thinking Atheist does stuff with a lot of polish (except for the rare typo).

Question: What did it exactly sum up?
All I noticed was it taking pot shots at creationism having a religious background, then proceeded to bash Christianity in general.
Don't get me wrong, I agree that creationism shouldn't be taught in schools (but I also wouldn't object to evolution being emphasized as a "theory" and not a "fact"), but that cartoon is really pointless.
Unless, of course, you meant that it summarized your sentence. At which point, yes: it did indeed effectively just respond to the entire debate with the word "durrr" :p
It is amazing how much it riles people up to even consider the teaching of a different point of view.
If there is no apparent support for creation why does it seem those that oppose it treat it as such a threat?
So much for the idea of giving people points of view and then allowing them to do some critical thinking and come to a well informed decision.

It's not that creationism is a threat, its that it is a ridiculous fairy tale idea that would be more suited for a discussion in a creative fiction or classic literature class than a science class.

This only proves the point that creation or evolution cannot be empirically proven and thus they are both as much in your words a "fairy tale idea."
If there were proof of evolution then it would only need be presented and this would be a non-issue, but there is none.

Not having enough evidence to prove something is true is irrelevant. What matters is if something can be proven false. Certain evidence could be able to prove evolution false but creationism can never be proven false because it's based purely on belief and therefor does not belong in a science classroom.
