So yeah, I know all the complaints. Interwebz is oversaturated with LPs and I don't really have anything special to offer. The only reason why this video was created was to practice my english, and the only reason why it came out in any form was Tantrix's stubborness.

So yeah, here's my Worry of Newport LP that I have recorded to practice my spoken english. It sucks, it really, really does, and I do want you guys to just be absolutely frank with me and prove Tantrix wrong. And yeah, when we're at it and so we don't ruin the point of the vid completely, please do criticize my spoken english and give me advice how could I get better. I know I'm getting a bit spammy with new topics lately, but just bear with me for a bit.

Your voice sounds like a meat grinder :P English isn't bad, but your vocabulary seems slightly limited. Also, you stutter too much, is that because it's in English, or do you normally talk like that?

In total, I've spoken english like ... 4 times, and this weekend when I played with 2 people. I'm fighting the language itself and looking for words much more than I should and than I'd like.

I'll add some more thoughts afterwards, but firstly I'll point out that the sound difference between the narrator and your voice over is pretty significant. If you want to do more of these I'd be conscious of that. I wouldn't go as far as meat grinder, but I the volume needs to come down and the delivery could be softer. Especially given the nature of the game.

Bonus points for choosing an interesting yet decidedly un-mainstream title. That's a mark of a good let's play.

Your commentary is kind of matter of fact. I suppose that's entirely down to the fact that you're not that comfortable with the language. But some analogies, comparisons and other, less direct ways of stating how you feel about the game or what's going on would definitely help.

I don't actually want to do a let's play. As title states, Tantrix made me do it - I don't really have any intention of making more videos and I wanted to post this one for people to criticise my english a little for a job interview, but youtube hated me yesterday.
That game looks quite interesting.
Your voice makes me melt inside.

^^

Hhahahahaha! :D

It's great, as opposed to my commentary. Free crysis mod. Do try it.
Honestly, the voice isn't that bad. If you spent more time reading out loud and speaking most of that trouble with the stress patterns and intonation would go away on it's own.
So, I didn't watch the whole thing (don't have the time).. but really, your English isn't bad at all mate. You have a notable accent, and definitely seem to occasionally struggle with finding the 'right word' at times, however.. your words are clear and I can easily understand what you're saying. You're a lot better than you give yourself credit for.

Basically, to get better.. just keep using it and talking to people.. that's really all there is to it.
Also, you should use the word 'defenestration' more *nod*
See, I told you everyone likes your dolphin smooth voice.
Not the worst thing I ever tried masturbating to ...
That is better English then some englishlanders that I know of.. Your accent is pretty awesome too. If you want to improve have conversations with other English speakers you will learn a lot that way.
For what it's worth, you're more fluent than me.

In that case I didn't notice any glaring problems. It's mostly just that your English is rather matter of fact and lacks the expressions native English speakers would use. Things like "I look at the floor" would be more like "I hang my head in shame", given what you're trying to convey.

Fenip's English is good enough for that much to go without saying.

Congolese jungle tribesmen who have never left their village or encountered any electronic device of any kind are about as good at English as some people in this country.
