Hm, since Stardock is supporting this game directly, I would throw an email to support@stardock.com with details on the problem. They should be able to help you.

lackoo1111: 2, i hope we can see Total Annihilation: Kingdoms + it's expansion on Impulse too.

I hope too that they'll release TA Kingdoms too, because I really liked that game.

melchiz: Wow, more awesome than I imagined:
"Stardock is handling the support for Total Annihilation directly and includes a new launcher that helps automatically configure the game for modern systems, streamlines getting multiplayer games going and includes easy access to tips and tricks for getting the most out of it.
As part of Stardock's support for the game, it will be releasing subsequent updates (with Atari's permission) to further streamline multiplayer, incorporate Impulse Reactor and work with fan sites to incorporate new content into the "official" release. It will also be further enhancing the release to prepare it for eventual availability on other digital distributors.
In other words, we’re treating Total Annihilation similarly to a newly released title with ongoing updates wherever possible.
The package includes Total Annihilation + Core Contingency as a single integrated package.
What makes Total Annihilation particularly special is that (depending on your modern setup and trouble shooting skills) you can get the game playing at crazy high resolutions and the game runs fine."

So... they're basically "pulling a GOG" there. Interesting. I wish publishers would give this sort of code liberty to GOG too. It could make us wonders.

Looks shiny, but I'll believe it when I see it. The Stardock To-Do List is just embarrassing.
Holy shit!
Thanks, but I've got the boxed version already. Still, this game is great!

Yeah, I have the "Commander Pack" as well. Nice thing is you can install and patch up the whole thing, and burn the directory with plenty of room to spare on a CD-R. No subsequent installations necessary.
I don't know if Impulse offers this hassle-free of a setup, but that's a tall order.

Well, much like with GoG (and digital distribution in general), you don't need to grab the cd-r. So that is basically it.
I am buying for the menu deal that allows it to run on modern systems. I got all the discs, even battle tactics. Battle Tactics sucked by the way, that's likely the reason it wasn't included because those are missions with no economy, just units you start with. It does focus on tactics but it's not the point of playing TA to me.
Fantastic game for sure played this loads with a coouple of friends until our computers melted with all the models fighting it out. for £7.99 price seems ok especially when you get the expanion pack for it.. This game is certainly etter than a lot of newer rts and a great deal of fun can be yours.
Like why is it so good?
WRONG TA is not on Impulse.
TA is a SNES game, it can't be on PC without permission from Nintendo.
http://tetrisattack.org for more info, bitches.

Well GOG actually rarely creates actual patches (mostly it couldn't without source code anyway). Usuallyy GOG just fidles with compatibility settings and farthest they go is tinkers game dll libraries but even then they only work on compatibility.
