So last night there was a windows update well 11 of them and today when I turned on my laptop it gave me an error when I logged into my account it was something about windows cant connect to windows event system or something like that, it made the UI look like windows 95 but I couldn't find a solution so I did a system restore after that was done and I logged into my account again everything seems fine and fixed but then 10 minutes later it gave me a message saying that system restore failed? but everything is fixed and working fine? right now I have no issues at all is it safe to continue using the laptop like this?

Hmm... I'm not entirely sure of what you're saying, but it sounds like when you restarted Windows booted into Safe Mode.

I can't comment on System Restore because it never works for me, but I can say I updated my system last night as well, and have had no issues.

You might want to check your hard drive for errors, and/or defrag it if you haven't in a while.

Same here as with CymTyr: system update (Win7 64 bit desktop rig) and no issues. Maybe a corrupted update?

On a serious note my pc updated last night and I didn't have any problems but because of this thread I decided to run a MalWare scan and it's finding shit everywhere.

For now I will just leave it as is as it seems to be working as it does usually not exactly sure what happened but lets hope it doesn't happen again but thanks any ways for all the info you guys have given me ( despite it mostly being jokes) haha
