Could a former SWTOR player kindly explain how big these limitations are?
I see Crew Skills are professions, Operations and Warzones group activities, but what is Quick Travel? Teleporting through known locations?

I really thought this game would last longer that SWG, guess I'm wrong. I give it 6 months, then the servers are going down for good.

Unless the limitations are REALLY crippling (and it doesn't seems so to my profane eyes) I don't see the reason to bash the change to F2P. But even if that was the case, we're still getting a huge amount of content for free just from the "singleplayer" part, one would think people would be glad at least for that...

Current subscriber here. Enjoying the heck out of the game while it lasts. ;)
There's an amazing amount of content available for free here, although three Warzones a week might be a bit stingy. Not that I've actually tried them yet - not a PvP person, myself - but if they're as long as the WoW Battlegrounds are... Actually, come to think of it, that's the average length of a dungeon, too. No pay-to-win. Cash shop items are cosmetic (although the Darth Nihilus mask is cool enough to qualify for pay-to-win on its own) and the only thing I've heard about so far that might be construed as this is experience boosts. Operations are raids: highly challenging content designed for larger groups of people - in this case, eight or sixteen dudes. Flashpoints are dungeons and are designed for four people.
MarioFanaticXV: "While those who opt out of subscribing will get all the game's story content for free," All I needed to know; I'll get around to it eventually. Maybe.
Cavalieroscuro: So, if you don't pay you can't enjoy the story?Mass Effect style :D Thanks EA The story is completely soloable. There are a number of missions that require groups, but they are all optional.
MarioFanaticXV: Story is really all I cared about. ...Even if Bioware did butcher the KotOR time period with this game. You're gonna have to elucidate that.
MarioFanaticXV: "While those who opt out of subscribing will get all the game's story content for free," All I needed to know; I'll get around to it eventually. Maybe.
jamyskis: The question is, how much of the story can you realistically see without all of those extras? The vast, vast majority. Seeing all the Flashpoints will take a few weeks, of course.
Operations make up a very small part of the story, but there is a developing storyline tying the latest two together, as well as to the quest line of a certain planet. Also, Operations are frickin' awesome. Fantastic atmosphere and encounter design.
Avogadro6: Could a former SWTOR player kindly explain how big these limitations are? I see Crew Skills are professions, Operations and Warzones group activities, but what is Quick Travel? Teleporting through known locations? Quick Travel lets you jump between discovered nodes on a given planet. It's equivalent to the Hearthstone of World of Warcraft, except you can choose your destination, at the expense of not being able to jump between zones. The Fleet Pass is a teleport to your faction's fleet station. It's got a prohibitively long cooldown, though, and is rarely used more than once a day.
Purebreed: I really thought this game would last longer that SWG, guess I'm wrong. I give it 6 months, then the servers are going down for good. Don't be such a nay-sayer; don't you know it's rude to wish closure on an MMO? People are invested in them.
(Been wanting to tell someone off about this for a while; you're the closest I could find). :P
...Aww, who am I kidding? The game will cease updating soon enough. I don't think they'll pull the plug for a while, but I can definitely see this game going the incredibly depressing direction of WAR: a living dead MMO. I need to hug my cat now. I got all sad.

And no, I don't hate them, that would imply strong emotion.
I just don't care anymore, they hold nothing that would interest me.
I was curious about SWTOR F2P. I played for a while after release (loved SI storyline) but never got around to finish even one class. But I don't see myself going back now.

There's no right to run Operations under the free package, so you'll need to buy a Weekly Pass if you want to get your hands on the best loot. Having said that, according to the chart you'll be unable to equip "most purple items unless a license is purchased", so it may not appeal that much to you anyway.

I played SWTOR at launch for about 4 months. I played a ton for the first 3 weeks, then got busy and cancelled my sub because of that. The game itself was awesome. Here's my take on the restrictions
Being allowed to level your characters to level cap is amazing value for free. The class quests are really outstanding and the story for my character (Jedi Knight) was one that kept me engaged. Even if you're only allowed 1 character on the F2P account, it's worth it to level to max just to experience the stories. Also, the locations are cool, Coruscant was amazing.
Space-battles are on-rails, super fun (I loved them) but 3 per week will probably satisfy your needs
Fewer crew skills will only really hamper you if you plan to raid.
Most of the restrictions really only seem to affect end-game players, but those are people likely willing to subscribe anyways. Some inconveniences are levied against free-players, but you will be able to experience the class story arc and many of the planet stories without much in your way.
Basically, it's a massive demo, you can get to level cap for free. If you like it, subscribe and raid, if not don't bother, because it becomes P2W at that point.

I am currently playing SWTOR and loving it. Been playing Imperial Agent doing mostly PVP while doing the class quest storyline in between which is now lvl 45. I also have an Inquisitor and Marauder, both level 50. (Yes I prefer Sith to Republic) I am currently subscribed and will more thank likely continue to be subscribed for a long time, or at least until I get bored playing the same planets over and over and over and over again.
