In the unusual Wednesday release we're bringing you King's Bounty, for the best price only for GOG.com users. Maybe not such an old game, but its exceptional atmosphere and retro feel makes this a great fit for GOG.com.
King's Bounty: The Legend is a fantasy-themed strategy/role-playing game and the official successor of the original King's Bounty, which in turn was the precursor to the famous Heroes of Might and Magic series. Compared to Heroes, there are a lot more RPG elements, plus the combat system is much more complex and challenging. Most notably, you explore the map in real-time, whereas combat is traditionally turn-based. The gameplay is non-linear which, among other things, means you want to play smart and avoid some routes at the start of your journey. Finally, this game loves to parody fantasy classics. Overall a great and very entertaining title.
Now this is certainly a surprise. Perhaps Armored Princess will also make it's way to GOG?
Blimey! Heard good things about this game....
and before anyone starts banging on about how this isn't old.....
...it all depends on how you define old!!
olol, this game is only a few months older than GoG itself. But it's an awesome game, and undoubtedly a great addition.
We'd still get a new release tomorrow, right?
And this is probably the first GOG that cannot be played by my puny laptop...
Great game! Too bad I already own both King's Bounty game on Steam.
Next game release please...
Alright, this is a fantastic game and well worth the price.. but!!!
I've expected some Dungeon Keeper or Total Annihilation or Thief or Deus Ex or.. a whole bunch of OLD games from Good OLD Games... really.
Whoa, holy shit!
I was considering buying this (with the expansion), but it seems that GOG has decided for me. Yeah, it is without the expansion, but whatever.
Purchased.
there is 2,6 GHz Processor in system requirements, but i wonder if it is playable on:
2.2 GHz C2D, 4GB of RAM, Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4570 ..?
OS: 7 x64

The same here. I'm not very familiar with actual games, but this one looks very interesting. Should I give it a try (AMD XP2500+, 1GB Ram)?
ok, THAT'S IT. I'm never buying games anywhere else but GOG anymore. I will buy this here again (when I feel like playing it again), even though I own it on Impulse as well.

On these specs it will run so fast you won't be able to catch it.

Even without the expansion, you'll have many hours of fun with the original game. A must have indeed.

Thank you :)
This is a good release. The game is fun, funny and *long*. Not old? It is certainly old school and proves one point - one can release a mainstream, reasonably new game with no DRM. This is good for GOG and for the PC market overall. GOG leads in this respect by example.
