that game was four months old when we signed up here (the first members) Are gog getting closer to traditional digital service? like d2d, steam or impulse?

sheepdragon: olol, this game is only a few months older than GoG itself. But it's an awesome game, and undoubtedly a great addition.

Aye. Good price too. Looks like I don't have to buy this via Steam or Impulse.
Also bought this + exp on Steam during sale.
Haven't played yet, but would still buy here if both were available at a reasonable price.
Hoping for Elven Legacy - have D2D (Spit!) version, and would definitely snap this up at GoG.
BTW - loving the bewbz. Keep it up. (So to speak).

gyokzoli: It's a King's Bounty remake, what did you expect?

Well I was led to belive it was something like HoMM with more RPG elements but it's basically HoMM without strategic layer. There was neither enough strategy nor enough RPG to apeal me. There's nothing particularly wrong with tactical battles (except overpowered spells/magic I pointed out and perhaps difficulty to replace/epelish some of my favority troops and after 1001 battles it tends to get repetive) but there's not much else there either. Basically it lacked opponent that reacted to my actions (even if it would be scripted). World was too static for exploration/adventure and there was no tension in the 'war' (enemies were there only to be slaughtered by me).

I think it's more like 1C wanting more business. They have already released it on every other DD service and probably asked if they could do the same on GOG and as GOG like to keep publishers happy they did it. While Kings Bounty: The Legend is a great game it's not well known (bombed at retail IIRC) so 1C were probably hoping that us GOGers were more willing to take a punt on it given we generally have a broader taste than the average Steam or D2D customer. I would imagine it was a safe bet given the overall positive reaction it's been given. While the game may be too new for some people's tastes, it keeps 1C happy and that means they are more likely to open up more older games to GOG which is a good thing.

Bought both games in a recent Steam sale, very good ones, recommended.
Already have it on DVD. There are some good videos of the game play on YouTube. I liked it a lot. When a bundle with Armored Princess comes along will get it.
The art work is very well done. I did not notice that it was a translation. They did a very good job. You do need to read everything to get the full experience. The three classes all work well, each in its own way.
Have to love a game whose tutorial begins by putting you into combat with an in your face dragon! Then a lich! Look around before you begin and get the training item and spend the points you have in something that will help in the tutorial combats. Then start over and do it right this time! Once rolling, the game is a lot of fun!

I see. In fact, HoMM was evolved from the original King's Bounty. So you have to look at this the other way. HoMM is something like King's Bounty.
I've heard great things, but couldn't get the Steam demo working. Hopefully, this being a GOG release, it won't have the same problems.
Huh, while this is a GOOD game, it isn't an old game. ;) Whatever the case, it's a great addition nonetheless.
Definitely not old, GOG, but good game.
If I didn't know any better, I'd suspect this game of being about big tits, like so many other recent GOG additions...and Evony....
About a month ago, I notice this game from impulse's deal with armored princess. I only have account in GOG...and the game looks so good that I struggle a lot to not open the account and buy it from there (mostly because I got too many games here un-touch here in GOG)
It really surprise me that GOG got this game released....I am so excited.
Now I am struggling buying it now or wait for the armored princess to buy them together (consider I have so many un-played game....it sounds wiser to wait for the armored princess....but still I am excited and eager to own this game)
man...GOG really makes me a game collector instead of a game player....
If you like turn based strategy games, this is easily a great one to pick up. Troop management can be a bit of a pain, and the sequel definitely handles it better, but it's remarkably big, vibrant, and fun. I own both this and its sequel, Armored Princess. Absolutely a blast to tear around in for a few hours now and again, but the ham-handed storytelling and painfully awkward dialogue makes this one more of a hidden gem if you're the sort of person who loves bad movies.
Also, you can marry a frog princess. Everyone should know this. It was then that I decided this game was awesome.
I'm thinking about buying this but would you guys recommend this or the Armored Princess instead (I understand that AP is standalone)? I definitely won't have time or money for both :D
Thanks!

Armored Princess is a little bit better, if you ask me, but it's also around $30 - though it does go on sale on Gamersgate fairly often (as does the gold edition that contains both games). Ultimately, if you like one, you'll probably like the other, and either game will probably last you a while. You also don't need to play the original to understand Armored Princess.
If they were the same price, I'd recommend Armored Princess, but Legend is much cheaper and is almost as good. Like I said, though, the series has frequent discounts on Gamersgate.
