ThermioN: well, i would prefer it if this will be distributed by steam rather than this stupid little client you had to run to play online or download patches for supreme commander.

With the difference being that with Steam you have to run the stupid client even to play offline. Yeah, that makes sense :-/
GPG.net is the worst type of DRM on SUPCOM and FA.
Looks nice so far, but it will be good to watch and see in what direction they take the game.

Huh? How is GPG.net a form of DRM? Understand that I have both, and I really don't NEED GPG.net to run the game. You can even download patches directly, if you want.
In fact, I had to reinstall XP once, over top of my previous installation... and thought "hey, the directory is there, what are the chances that I could just click on the .exe and run it instead of reinstalling?" and... it worked. So, nothing is installed silently either.
Oh for gods sake another bloody DRM debate. IT HASNT HAD A DRM SCHEME ANOUNCED YET. So calm down and dont pointlessly derail the conversation.

I believe acare was being sarcastic, as in "There is no DRM unless you consider GPG.net to be DRM."

Demo's out on Steam. Knowing Valve they'd probably charge for that too, but it's free.
Oh boy, can't wait! I hope the box will be full of treats, just like the original SC. Instantly fell in love with that game, surprisingly i've never felt that about TA. This is going to be my first and last RTS in 2010, unless something surprising comes out. ;)
Simplified economy, simplified graphics, and all at full-price and claimed to be a sequel. I'll pass on this, FA was perfect as-is. Shame on Square.
EDIT: Read some more. They changed too much. I think everyone would be ok with this game if it wasn't called SupCom2. If they called it Robo-Command or something like that it would be fine, hey it's a different game. But calling SupCom2 a sequel honestly pisses me off.

It does feel pretty diluted. I don't seem to even be able to queue orders, which I loved doing even though it so frequently fell apart on contact with the enemy.
Like tb87670 said, it's not a bad game. But I looked to Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander for the best in strategic potential. This just falls too far short. Not as bad as I was dreading, given the 360 version. But no game has the right to be called a sequel when it's so stripped compared to the original.
Where are you reading about this?
I can't imagine a simplified economy from only 2 resources?
I don't like this game now.
Tons of posts about it, here's one:
