AudioCG: Oh dont get me wrong, I still play 3S often (Duds/Alex for a decade strong yo.), I am more interested in the resurgence that will inevitably follow the HD facelift. (take a look at HDR, the ST remake as an example.)

As it stands right now, the only way to play 3S with solid netcode is by using GGPO, and while that is great, the community is small, and will continue to dwindle away. (They are actually making a 3S remix right now, not sure if you were aware of that fact, 3S is no longer a featured game in tourney play, we want it back!)

On that note, I would KILL for an Alpha 2 remix as well, as the community for that game is all but dead, and it is easily one of the best SF titles. (IMO)

Or CVS2....oh god, CVS2....

Wait...I thought Capcom wasn't doing a SSF4 port to PC because people pirated the original?
avatar
Delixe: Delighted absolutely delighted with this news. I was so upset Capcom didn't port the original SSF4 given a) It's designed on the PC MT Framework and b) Capcom said the PC version outsold their expectations.
Just to clarify, the Street Fighter IV games don't use MT Framework, but like MT Framework games it was built with the PC in mind because that's what the arcade version runs on (it's literally a gaming PC with a really fancy case).

Super never made it to the arcades until this special Arcade Edition, so delaying its matching PC version until now makes a lot of sense. It also means the PC version will presumably come bundled with all the extra Arcade Edition characters and whatnot that will be sold separately for the console versions.

Oh god yes.
Wow!! Nice! You made me a very happy person today! I just hope this isn't fake news like the other time. Anyway they gave us Dead Rising 2, so I got my hopes up they would give us SSFIV.

We're getting the arcade version? So we getting Oni Akuma? His raging demon looks BEYOND epic kickass!
avatar
Foxhack: Also, if they're going to release this on PC, I expect DLC. Lots and lots of it.
I can live with it. They're tonnes of awesome costume mods which I have used myself. Hulk Hogan Zangief ftw.

^This!
My most wanted game from Capcom ever. It will be a bonus if they release MvC2 & 1 as a digital download as well.

Those were free, added via modding.

If they release the game you bet they'll add a LOT more anti-modding protection this time aruond.
Found the source:
http://twitter.com/Yoshi_OnoChin

Is the guy trolling? Hopefully not. lol Coz he says something about consoles not having the AE version. Somehow I find that hard to believe somewhat.

404 pages, maybe they decided to do something after all.

Yeah, I know. I mentioned they were mods.
Personally I don't see anything wrong with mods. I think they're more concerned about the sales of the game though.

I highly doubt the project director would be trolling. If you go back over his twitter account you will see he wasn't happy about the original SSF4 not making it to the PC but the decision was taken out of his hands. As for there being no AE for consoles, that might be true as a lot of the AE enhancements could be sold as DLC for the existing console game.

Awesome!! Nice to know! Just hope we really get the game this time.
Ask him for MvC3 please! :) I would but I don't really know how to use/read Twitter.

It's unlikely he will answer awkward questions like that as he is quite a PC fan being a big WoW player. Also some people on twitter literally get thousands of questions a day so I never expect an answer really as was pleasantly surprised he replied to me.

As for twitter you can just lurk and use it as a source of news if you wish. I recommend a client like Tweetdeck to make it nice and easy and then just add people you would be interested in hearing what they say. A few gaming recommendations I would make are:

Chris Avellone (ChrisAvellone), Katsuhiro Harada (Harada_TEKKEN), Tom Ebsworth (NanoSmartCasual), Hideki Kamiya (PG_kamiya), Ron Gilbert (grumpygamer), Ed Boone (noobde), George Broussard (georgeb3dr), Tak Fujii (Tak_Fujii), Tim Schafer (TimOfLegend), Derek Smart (dsmart), Cliff Harris (cliffski), David Perry (dperry), Charles Cecil (CharlesCecil), David Braben (DavidBraben), and Ken Levine (IGLevine),
Nothing much new but well the news made it on a website this time:
http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2011/feb/27/ono-states-theres-news-pc-info-follow-later/

As usual the few retard console fanboys have to attack like in many other sites:
Oh boy, development time being wasted on a terrible platform for fighting games, hooray!
*tries to do Zangief's SPD on a keyboard*

PC FTL, how do you even do special moves on keyboards anyway? You PC trolls should stop posting really and go play your pirated clicky strategery games. Heh.
That's it, I'm BOYCOTTING all Capcom games, for real this time. Because I'm outraged.

I paid $10 for SF4 on Steam, and played it for a total of about an hour.

Guess fighting games aren't for me unless they're called One Must Fall 2097.

I played SFIV since I got the boxed set almost once every 2 days, sometimes daily.

It's definitely warranted. I kind of gave up eventually because it's not quite my style though...I find Virtua Fighter a much more natural fit. Advanced SF combos are just...too deep for me.

Oh, I guess I prefer 2D fighters. Growing up on SF2 in the arcades and then stuff like Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters and the Marvel series. SFIV is total 3D but in 2D perspective, thank goodness, and plays like a gem.
