Up to now the offers have been meh, strong niche games, or discounts on stronly overpriced games (unreal gold? Really? I have about 3 hardcopies of those from various packs, and on steam you could pretty much get all UT games for much less individually... and who the hell decided to ask 9.99 for that game?)
Putting 1 AND 2 together for that price might have enticed me.
As for the other offers, pretty darn meh except maybe Sanitarium, and the only reason I didn't buy it is because I tend to never play adventure games.
You don't need to copy Steam, but more interesting offers, packages or a couple of choices would've been nice.
Oh and whomever the right holders are, compare the sales of 5,99 vs the 9,99 games, I'm willing to bet the last ones sell an order of a magnitude MORE. And it's not like you're still trying to recoup costs here, this is just plain greedy!

Hm, this must be the case. GOG, you greedy bastards, stop discounting the games I don't personally want for your own greedy agenda. I know this is somehow benefiting you when I don't purchase the sales you provide for "our" benefit.

I am Enlightened.

Let's blame the schools not teaching reading comprehension anymore... the full Quote was:

I DO know that gog.com doesn't decide the pricing except for their own games...

Don't worry. I am well aware of my misuse of your quotes. As an English major I am very proficient in my willful ignorance.

Jokes aside I think you failed your reading comprehension check when you read what the purpose of the hidden gem promos are all about. These games aren't the allstars. They are the otherwise good games that no one would bother with if they didn't showcase them in these promos.

One of the top FPS of the 90's isn't worth $4? Really?

Too bad you missed the last holiday sale.
I don't really understand how this works.

There's a currency conversion, so it should come out roughly equal in terms of relative value.

How is that for me in the U.S., a GOG is like the same price as a crappy McDonald's meal but other places it seems like a whole night out.

Well, in China..a $5.99 GoG is roughly equal to 40 RMB and a $9.99 GoG is equal to 65 RMB. A 5.99 GoG is almost 2 McDonald's meals here. A 9.99 GoG is enough for me to eat a sandwich at Subway for lunch, a fairly nice sit-down meal at dinner, and still have enough left over to go watch a movie.
I don't have a problem with the quality of games in the daily sales; I have a problem with the fact that so far I already own all of the games on offer. Here's hoping for game number five.

Au contraire, I only join forums when I have something to say, my collection of 60 of Gog finest games says otherwise :)

Unreal a hidden gem? The game that almost toppled the almighty ID from their throne of Quake and Doom? With their engine in pretty much every game and Quake a rarity (unless hidden like the COD series)
Aside from Sanitarium which was underrated (mostly due to real issues with the game), the rest has been slop. Games that fell next to the bargain bin...
Earth 2150? I actually liked 2140 for a bit... but even the little bits of ingenuity couldn't mask the tired and staleness of 2150. The crap AI.
Knights and merchants nothing more than a weak settler / megalomania rip-off... A very weak one. These are not gems, they're crap. And Unreal was overpriced to begin with, making even this deal barely worth the price of admission (again there have been better unreal deals at the competion).

Case in point being that I can actually get both unreal and knights and merchants out of a bargain bin around the corner for 5 euro for 5 games...

Macdonalds meals aren't a good comparator here in Europe as we pay exactly the same as you do, except in Euros. For the price of a MacDonalds meal we can actually get a REAL meal (so compare it to a good meal in the US, you give up a quick bit at macdonalds, we give up a decent meal! )

Have at you!
All I can say is that summer has just begun and there are a great many days left for titles you'd rather see on these daily sales. Have patience.
Gotta love it when people around the world from eachother discuss their countries' respective currency values via comparing fast food meal prices!

I created a topic on it once, if you are interested: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/how_many_lunches

Not with fast food in specific, though, but with lunch in general.
LOL! Thanks for the link man!
