As our catalog gets bigger and better every week, it’s easy to lose track of some of the awesome games that we have to offer. We’ve been running one day “Gaming Gem” promos for a while now to highlight some classic titles that don’t get the love of some of our best-known blockbusters like Baldur’s Gate or Duke Nukem 3D. To celebrate summer, for the next two weeks until July 25th, we’re going to run a Gaming Gem promo every day, so you can rediscover these lesser-known classics! Grab that plastic toy shovel and dig out gem after gem over the next 18 days. We think every game we’re going to be offering on our Summer GOG.com Gem Extravaganza will be an excellent title, and we hope you give them all a try.

Good morning. My name is Dirk Smartly, and here’s your news for the day.

The fight between the United Civilised States and the Eurasian Dynasty continues to rage. NEO, our political overlord, advises us that our valiant robots in blue will shortly overcome the rampaging forces of the spineless Eurasian Dynasty. NEO also has instructed me to tell you that rumors that the huge atomic explosion that the treacherous ED purports to have set off on the North Pole has certainly not knocked the earth out of orbit, sending it spiralling into the sun in a path of fiery destruction and ruin which will end with all of us screaming in agony as the atmosphere overheats and boils our very flesh away.

In other—entirely unrelated!—news, our friends the Lunar Corporation are attempting to build a massive ship that can hold millions of people and animals and are intending to send it on an interplanetary journey to a destination that is not hurtling into the sun at unbelievable speeds. If, that is, there was a place that was doing that. Operators are standing by to take applicants for this daring and adventurous cruise across the vacuum of space, so call now!

Finally, we want you to know that the UCS is recruiting! For a trivial price of $2.39 you can enter your application, download our command and control packet from GOG.com, and take the fight to the enemy with our cleverly titled "Earth 2150 Trilogy” simulation software package. Revel in its stunning 3D glory! Gasp in astonishment at the graphics, the innovative in-game unit creator, and the flexible tactics you can use to defeat your foes! Be dazzled by the cunning and treachery of your opponents in either single- or muti-player battles! Help varied factions fight to preserve the very future of humanity itself!

The UCS only offers this new commander application program on sale for the next 24 hours, so be sure to pick up the gem from our local vendor GOG.com before this promotion runs out, and check in tomorrow to see what’s for sale on GOG.com!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to see if the Lunar Corporation has any need for a dashingly handsome and talented newsreader like me.

Does it feel hot in here to you?

Fantastic: Grab it while it's hot!
Yay, thank you very much! :D
I recommend this gem.
It was my first purchase here. Good RTS with nice "Breaking news" sequences. :-) You can carry over units between missions and customize them as you research new techs.

I was helping FiatLux so I thought it's another post from him, and here comes surprise.. lol :D

FiatLux: It is probably due to what the default font size is set to be in your/the browser...
Too big default font = forum problem when using "ctrl-0 to reset text zoom" .....
avatar
Lexor: Ah, maybe that - I have Times New Roman with size 16.
My F.F. used Times New Roman with size 16 also.
You are a really good at helping out - and I am quite bright ;-)
So between the two of us then "the penny finally dropped" here....
Though font & font size seems to be problem determining when using manually re-sized windows (as I did) - as opposed to maximized , then if one use maximize button (browser window) then the problem might go away (depending on font size).
My browsers were using manually re-sized to maximum size though not maximized by using the maximize button, and that created the difference in how the software reacted (F.F. & I.E.8) !!!
Also problem seems to appear if the font size are so big that you get a lower scroll bar in your browser window...
Well enough about this... (I think that we/I are straying too much off-topic for too long - no need to upset the MODs)
But thank you very much for your kind help - much appreciated...

I tried to recreate your problem on my FF by using windows of different sizes (with scroll bar at bottom) but with no effects. I think that could be also some problem with your graphics card rendering but I am not so sure about that (just thinking out loud).

Were you resizing fonts by using mouse wheel when in different windows and different experiments ? (Also did you close all instances of and restart your browser in-between experiments)
Your "graphics card rendering" suggestion ofcourse is a possibility......

Sorry I am a little pre-occupied elsewhere at the moment - just came something on TV I wants to watch.... ;-)

Yes.
Love RTS - now have added three more.
Already got it.

But it did't aged well. Typical fugly 3D strategy.

Lexor: Yes.
This is going to sound really weird.... After I did the re-size thing by using the Maximize button then I can't re-create the problem in any of my browsers anymore....
There has got to be an un-known glitch somewhere (wouldn't be the first I have discovered) - and it would take too long time for me to try to narrow the glitch down right now....
But as I said before , Thank you very much for your help and kindness.....

Alternative explanation :
Someone GOG watched this conversation and did an "on the fly" adjustment to the server/forum-software.....

No problem, as I said before. I hope that your problem somehow solved itself.
I own it already. Well, maybe next time it will be better :)

Fugly ?

Would that be f**king + ugly ?

;-)
Does it have a fun/interesting single player campaign?
