As our catalog gets bigger and better every week, it's easy to lose track of some of the awesome games that we have to offer. We've been running one day "Gaming Gem" promos for a while now to highlight some classic titles that don't get the love of some of our best-known blockbusters like Baldur's Gate or Duke Nukem 3D. To celebrate summer, for the next two weeks until July 25th, we're going to run a Gaming Gem promo every day, so you can rediscover these lesser-known classics! Grab that plastic toy shovel and dig out gem after gem over the next 18 days. We think every game we're going to be offering on our Summer GOG.com Gem Extravaganza will be an excellent title, and we hope you give them all a try.

With today’s Summer Gem Promo we have something special for old-school gamers who played games without the need of computers. Remember the feeling when entering the local arcade? The noise, the weird smell, the darkness slashed by a flash from a nearby machine, and the sticky floor from spilt sodas? Now you can relive the entertainment media that led to the birth of video games! Well, at least the fun part. Get nostalgic for those good old games with [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/dream_pinball_3d]Dream Pinball 3D. The game features 6 pinball tables, each with its own theme: Knight Tournament, Monster Castle, Underwater World, Dino Wars, Spinning Rotors, and Amber Moon. Each table has its own tasks which you will need to fulfill to get at the top of the hi-score list, and that only sounds easy. With awesome 3D graphics, realistic ambient sounds straight from an arcade, and very good ball physics, the game will bring you hours of fun. The best thing is that with today’s 60% discount, you’ll only spend $2.39 on the game and can keep the change in your pocket!

Fifeldor: Apparently most of the "hidden gems" were "hidden" for a reason.

F1ach: Gotta go with this :)
Sanitarium is well received as I hear it.
Here's my take on what I think this promo means.
"Hidden" in this series of promotions means overlooked by many; this game may look mediocre or even bad to some, but, like I've stated earlier, I, for one, like it, and I'm fairly certain there are other people of the same opinion. As for other summer hidden gems, Sanitarium, Earth 2150 and Knight and Merchants are good games that aren't perpetually in the spotlight of attention (like for example the Baldur's Gate games are), while Unreal seems to have faded into obscurity.
Seeing as I didn't have any pinball games from GOG, I picked it up and will give it a shot.

My Wallet- 3

GOG- 2

Still with all to play for. :-)
I've been holding off on this game for some time now, but for that price I thought it would be worth a try. It turns out it's actual quite fun for what it is, although I wonder if they couldn't have found even more generic table names. Those cheesy voiceovers work quite well, especially the Monsters table one. I also like that the tables are of fairly simple design, as I prefer such over complex ones.

Wallet : 2 - GoG : 3
(Knights & Merchants and Unreal Gold were my other purchases thus far)
Gonna pass. Wallet 3, GOG 2.

Sanitarium: Pretty good.
Earth 2150: Meh, but I've not given up on it yet.

You totally forgot about Psycho Pinball. That one was my favorite back then.
I might have jumped on Pinball Gold Pack or any of the Pro Pinball games. Not this one.
Well, I was pleading for something I didn't already own. I haven't played a video pinball game since the good old "Pinball" cartridge on the Atari 2600, so....
I wasn't sure whether to go for this title or not, as the reviews were not stellar. But then I realized that it cost about 30 cents more than my cup of coffee this morning, so what the hell...I've played a bit, and I'm still working on what camera angle is best and wish the music was a bit more prominent, but it's an enjoyable time waster.

EDIT: I remember playing an older pinball game with a table called "Medieval Knights" and two others which I can't recall. I really enjoyed that one...

How silly and psychedelic of me to forget :) Yes Psycho Pinball and wasn't there a Pinball Mania?? Anyway...we need more pinball..

@epithumia - haha! Video Pinball for the 2600, I was playing that on the old DS last week, Atari collection :) Great how you could tilt the ball..well actually the square in that game, lol!
I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed with this sale so far.

Probably a good thing, I have plenty of games I need to catch up on :P
I hope I get a chance to get vampire the masquerade, painkiller, stronghold crusader or even septerra core one of these days.....wouldn't mind one on icewind dale or cursader:no remorse either even though they are actually popular titles and crusader was released only recently.

Extreme Pinball by Digital Extremes would be the one. ;)
