There may be an obvious answer to this, but is there a way to quote from multiple posts without manually entering [quote_number] multiple times? Thanks!

If you make multiple replies to posts within a certain time limit (don't know what it is at the moment), the forum software will automatically merge them into one multi-quoted post (assuming no one sneaks in a reply before you finish your replies). Otherwise, you have to manually do it like you described.

1. Press the quote button for post A
2. Copy everything in the text field
3. Click cancel
4. Press the quote button for post B
5. Paste in stuff from A at the very beginning or end
6a. Copy and repeat for more quotes or
6b. Go ahead and type your replies if you've got all quotes

Thanks, this is probably the easiest method, but I'm not sure it would work for GOG Mafia games if the messages show up as edited (edited posts are not allowed in these games).

I used this method to compose this post and it should be safe for mafia.

Thank you to both cogadh and Miaghstir for your hints. Wish I could give rep to both!

Only problem with this is that the forums still don't properly notify people you quote in an edit. So if you want to make sure all people you are quoting will be informed that someone replied directly to them, you need to use the method Miaghstir mentioned.

For an extra safety net (eg. against a crashing browser), and a larger "editing field", copy all quotes from the text fields to notepad, type your replies there, then paste everything back to a new post.
