ASK

Ask everyone in general: That scream you all heard, is everyone absolutely sure it was Joseph's voice or can it be someone else's?

Ask Alexa: When you checked on your brother, was he alone in his room?

EXAMINE

Examine anyone and see whether anybody is wearing navy blue clothing.

tarangwydion: ASK

All of these questions I ask privately with the characters:

Ask Beth Grabner:
(*). Do you recall how many songs you played with piano after dinner, and if you do, what are they?
(*). Was there anybody else with you when you were playing piano?

Ask Margie Donnelley:
(*). When you walked by the study after dinner, did you hear any music playing from the living room, and if so do you know what song was currently played?

Hon. Michael Zelger:
(*). When you were in the terrace, did you hear any music playing from the living room, and if so do you know what song/songs was/were currently played?

EXAMINE

Examine the large kitchen knife more closely.

Examine the study room in general for anything that seems out of place.

Examine the multiple items lying on the study room floor.

Examine the shiny object in the bushes in the terrace.

Examine myself (ha...ha...), if I were struck in the forehead, did I really not see who my assailant was?
Knife at the scene: A blade of about 4 inches with a rubber handle. Does it match the ones in the kitchen?

Study: it's getting colder and colder in the study. Apparently the window has been cracked open (the curtains were closed so as to hide it initially, but now everyone is starting to feel the cold air.)

Items on floor of study:

1.) a frame photo of the Costa family featuring Mr. & Mrs Costa, Alexa and Billy. Billy is the only one not smiling in the picture.

2.) pieces of a broken vase.

3.) at least 3 letters, scribbled on and partially burnt by exposure to the fire. You pick one of the three up and read what little you can from it:

Bushes: you were unable to find any shiny objects in the bushes, despite Alexa's insistence.

Yourself: you suffered short term memory loss (as described earlier). You believe you got a good look at the person that attacked you, but you're having a hard time recalling it.

tarangwydion: EDIT: Ouch, the questions will only be answered when asked publicly? In that case, make all questions above asked publicly then. I have not accused anybody, so that should be okay right?
Private questions will be answered privately, examinations are public and so are public questions.

I will answer your private question, jjust haven't gotten around to yours yet.

(BTW, whenever anything is revealed, I am adding it to one of the posts on the first page... so the info starts getting compiled.)

Let me take a look at the shiny thing in the bushes. Let me also see what I can gather from the other two burned letters.

Question:
Beth: Have you heard anything new about Mr. Costa lately?
Billy: What do you know of the gold your father purchased, and how many others here know about it?
Billy: What are your thoughts on Paul's absence?
CC: What are your thoughts on Paul's absence?
Charlie: Is the knife from the study from the same set as the knives in the kitchen?

Edit: One more question for Horace: What were you making in the kitchen?
Post edited June 09, 2011 by GoJays2025
I thought that I and the doctor were only allowed to ask 3 questions by PM, and Alexa was only allowed to ask 1.

Examine:
The Kitchen. Do the kitchen knives match the one found in the study? Is the back door locked?
The Window in the study. Is there anything to indicate how the window may have been broken.

Question:
Billy: "When did you first notice the statue on the mantle?"
Charlie: "Who would have the most to gain from Joseph's death?"
Aside: This is true, I only get 1 private question while you guys get 3. I see that I get 3 in the next round, but what/when is that?
I guess I am to blame for the confusion. I thought I was allowed to post the questions publicly here (as in public for us GOGer members) and it does not matter whether the questions are public or private (as in for the characters).

But I re-read the thread again, and changed my previously private questions above as public (as in for the characters). I hope that is okay.

As for the private questions through PM, I do not post them here.

I hope that clears the confusion and sorry for creating it in the first place.
Moving fast at the moment so what I will do right now is:

1. Answer all the questions that are currently here.
2. Check to see where we are as far as private questions go. If they're all used and answered, I'll let you know so you can take new ones.
3. Update the front page with all the new info.

So tonight (well, it's tonight for me, don't know if it's night time for you), I'm only going to get around to answering the questions posted above this post.

Cool?
If you post any after this, I'll have to get to it tomorrow.

GoJays2025: Let me take a look at the shiny thing in the bushes.
Using her sharp observational skills, Alexa has detected that there is a gold coin in the bushes. She picks it up and shows it off to everyone.

"Those are the coins Joseph just bought!" says Charlie Wheeler, his (now former) attorney.

Alexa suspects that there may be more inside the bushes and thinks she might come back to check it out later, but right now she has a couple other things to do:

Let me also see what I can gather from the other two burned letters.
Alexa picks up the 2nd letter, but it's just as tough to decipher. She can tell that the handwriting between the two differ.

Beth: Have you heard anything new about Mr. Costa lately?
Beth: "Well, dear, I figured this was Billy's place to tell you, but I'm going to say it anyway. You know, I take care of all the most stylish women in town... but I'm not telling you something you don't know.

One of them happens to be a mother of one of your brother's friends. She told me that he told her that Billy told him... don't worry about how I heard, let me just say this...

You father was upset. He was troubled for at least a few days now, it was about some decision he had to make. He seemed to think that no matter what choice he made, there were going to be serious negative repercussions."

Billy: What do you know of the gold your father purchased, and how many others here know about it?

Billy: "Swear sis, I have no idea about any gold. I swear!"

Billy: What are your thoughts on Paul's absence?

Billy: "Thing is, sis, there's something creepy about the whole thing. I have a feeling, you know... that Mr. D'Souza is here somewhere. I'm not calling myself a psychic or anything, I've never thought something like this before. It's just that, I can.. feel his eyes. Since the moment dad was killed, it's like he's looking on somehow..."

CC: What are your thoughts on Paul's absence?

CC: [still intoxicated] "I fig-fig-figure something just c-came... came up."

Charlie: Is the knife from the study from the same set as the knives in the kitchen?

Charlie Wheeler: "No, it's not. I washed most of them, that's definitely not a part of any set from the kitchen. I wonder what it means? If the killer brought it for that purpose, why not use it?"

Edit: One more question for Horace: What were you making in the kitchen?

Horace: "Me, cook? Hooheeeeohooo. No way! I was just helpin Charlie clean the dishes and wash up a bit. Besides, I was stuffed after dinner.

Now look, I know your pops has kicked the bucket, so this must be a traumatic night for you. But don't you remember what happened last time I cooked? Everyone got sick!"

CowboyBebop: I thought that I and the doctor were only allowed to ask 3 questions by PM, and Alexa was only allowed to ask 1.
Correct.

Doctor gets 3, but he can ask a 4th to a female since that's his strength.
You get 3 each round.
Alexa gets 1 the first round, then 3 every other time.

I'll let you know after we've all asked and answered our set of private questions, then we can ask more.

Note: this is for the private questions, not the public ones.

The Kitchen. Do the kitchen knives match the one found in the study?
No.

Is the back door locked?
Yes, bolted shut. Does not appear to have been open at any point.

The Window in the study. Is there anything to indicate how the window may have been broken.
Clarification: by cracked, I meant opened slightly. I will make sure to be clearer about this on the front page.

Billy: "When did you first notice the statue on the mantle?"
Billy: "Oh, just yesterday." [LIE DETECTED

Charlie: "Who would have the most to gain from Joseph's death?"
Charlie: "As far as the will is concerned, Billy stands to benefit the most."

GoJays2025: Aside: This is true, I only get 1 private question while you guys get 3. I see that I get 3 in the next round, but what/when is that?
I will let you know as soon as I have answered the first set from everyone, I will say, OK, you can send a new round of questions now. Will keep you informed.

You can post the private questions on here, if you prefer, and I will PM you the answers. It's fine if that's how you want to do it.

But I re-read the thread again, and changed my previously private questions above as public (as in for the characters). I hope that is okay.

As for the private questions through PM, I do not post them here.

No problem. So do you want me to answer those questions you posted publiclly and you'll pick new private ones, or would you prefer those questions to be your private ones? Just let me know.

Ask everyone in general: That scream you all heard, is everyone absolutely sure it was Joseph's voice or can it be someone else's?

Alexa: "Definitely."

Ask Alexa: When you checked on your brother, was he alone in his room?

Alexa: "Yes."

EXAMINE

Examine anyone and see whether anybody is wearing navy blue clothing.

Characters wearing navy blue:

1. Billy Costa
2. CC Morris
3. Beth Grabner

Ok, that's it for the public questions for a few hours. I'm just going to make sure I've responded to everyone's private questions and also update the first page with all the new evidence/testimony.

(BECAUSE OF SPACE LIMITATIONS PER POST, I HAD TO SPLIT POSTS UP ALL OVER THE FIRST PAGE OF THE THREAD... ALL THE IMPORTANT STUFF WILL BE IN MY POSTS ON THE FIRST PAGE OF THE THREAD....)

In that case, I'll just change those back to private. I already asked you my first private question via PM. So, for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th private questions, taken from the "public questions" above will be:

2nd: Hon. Michael Zelger:
(*). When you were in the terrace, did you hear any music playing from the living room, and if so do you know what song/songs was/were currently played?

3rd: Ask Beth Grabner:
(*). Do you recall how many songs you played with piano after dinner, and if you do, what are they?

4th, the one for female character only: Ask Margie Donnelley:
(*). When you walked by the study after dinner, did you hear any music playing from the living room, and if so do you know what song was currently played?

Answers to the above should be PM'ed to me.

The following will be public:

Ask Beth Grabner:
(*). Was there anybody else with you when you were playing piano?

Ask everyone in general: That scream you all heard, is everyone absolutely sure it was Joseph's voice or can it be someone else's?

For my question to Alexa, drop that one for now.

All my examinations are still valid (and in public).

I will ask no more questions for this afternoon to give you time to reply to the above. I will ask the next public questions tomorrow morning local time.

Gotcha. I'm going to sleep soon so I will answer your private questions within the hour, update the front of the thread and then I'll answer the public ones you listed here tomorrow.
---No one questioned believes that the scream came from anyone other than Joseph. Billy, Horace and Charlie only heard it faintly because they were further from the scene.

Posts on the first page have been updated with evidence and testimony.
...we're getting a lot closer. The story will be added to tonight, and I think the new evidence it will introduce will help push you in the right direction as well.
Examine:
The front door, is it locked?
The driveway, is everybody's car there? Is Paul's car there?
The bathroom. Is there anything interesting?

Question:
Dr. Morris: "Did you wake up before the scream? If so, who woke you up?"
CC Morris: "Did you see who attacked your husband? Why do you drink so much?"
avatar
stoicsentry: ...we're getting a lot closer.
We are? I am still clueless as ever... lol

Anyway, the roleplaying continues...

----------------------------------------------------

EXAMINE

Examine Billy's room, especially the window, to see if there is a way he can get out of his room through the window, drop to the ground, and maybe make a way to the front door without being seen.

Examine Billy's and Beth's clothes surreptitiously to see if their clothes are torn.

Request everyone present, including myself, to write down some sentences on a piece of paper, and then compare the handwriting with the two letters found.

ASK

Asking my wife directly to check whether her clothes are torn or not.

And, unless I miss it somewhere, Beth has not answered this public question: Was there anybody else with you when you were playing piano?
