GOG devs.... what is the status of the original PC edition of Legacy of Kain Blood Omen. This was a nice RPG top down that I enjoyed playing immensly. It is sad that all the sequels are up for sale, but you have not put up the masterpiece that started it all. Don't forget us on this game. If you have to pay a little more for the liscensing, do it.... I am sure the gog fans will pay the difference.

There's rights issues holding it back at the moment
Did I also read on here before that game is incredibly difficult to run stably on modern systems?

I can play my abandonware copy just fine on Win7, so it can't be that bad.
I just hope GOG will sort out the licensing issues someday...we HAVE to have the complete series here!
I bet GOG staff didn't even realize they hadn't released it yet. Thank god you reminded them.
Must be some regional/platform licensing crap. US PSN has it for $6.

Indeed. Blood Omen is a very easy game to overlook. Much like System Shock 2. It's very doubtful that any of the GOG staff members have even heard of that game. I'm sure the moment they learn of it's existance and notice somebody on the forums mention it, they'll scrap whatever is in their release schedule and release it the very next day.

Haven't ever played nor look forward to either of them so I concur :)

Never heard of this game. Must be really obscure.
Of course GOG have heard of the game. They have already released all the games from that series, minus this one, the very same game that title all the games as "Legacy Of Kain". They have Blood Omen 2, and at least one person of the GOG Team must have thought: "Mmm, there's a 2 after Blood Omen, maybe there's a Blood Omen 1?"

Also, this game and its story is described in the manuals, in the Timeline segments. The game is very well known.

Possibly the problem must be between Silicon Knights (the creators of the game) and Crystal Dynamics (the creators of the sequels). CD by the time of the games was owned by Eidos. Now Eidos is owned by Square-Enix... so the problem could related to licensing.

If is not that case, then... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, GOG?!

Ahem... Have a nice day, everybody! :)

Nope. There's a patch that let the game run perfectly fine on modern Windows systems. My recently purchased copy of the game works pretty well on Windows Vista SP2, for instance....

Hmm I must be thinking of something else then. Good to know compatibility shouldn't be an issue!

Let's just get those rights...
Hell, even I can't find it when I look for it in legit places to buy it online for direct download. The only place I did find it was in Abandonia, and I don't know how legit could it be, if the game is OK, patched or updated. And it seems you can download the full game for free there, but I'm not sure.

A GOG release would be great.
