cpugeek13: Well, haven't bought anything yet. Pretty much waiting and hoping for a further discount on Empire: Total War. Besides that, I am looking at two games in particular-- The Witcher and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. Kind of funny because they're basically mirror opposites. Still trying to decide which one would be a better purchase. On one hand, the Witcher is supposed to have a great story, but the gameplay seems a bit contrived. I've always loved the Roller Coaster Tycoon games, but I'm worried that it won't be as fun for as long as I remember.
Anyone got an opinion of those games?

Go with the Witcher. I've had series expectations before and have often been let dpoown. RC3 is good, but if the Witcher is cheap, then get that
I'm definitely keeping my eye on it but it'd thave to be a damned good deal on a game before I buy it since I lack a gaming PC at the moment
I took the Eidos Pack (Batman in it is great), Ghostbusters, and STALKER Clear Sky. Oh and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. All the games I wanted, and more, for cheap ! :p

Its worth $13-14. I loved it, played it through 3 times (a long break between each), to see how the factions differ. The story is interesting, It made me go get the books. The world is beautiful, lovingly crafted and designed. While the combat can take some getting used to, it doesn't require a lot of effort. The magic/potions system is well implemented and quite different to the usual fantasy fare. You have to use the right weapons and spells on the right creatures. Collect, brew and consume potions to make the harder battles, easier...
I especially like that the more you side with one faction, the more their major characters are portrayed as reasonable and likeable, while members of the opposition faction degenerate into wild fanatics. At the end of any game, the side you chose seems like the more reasonable (but still flawed). You can pick different sides each play through, see the different endings, and still come away feeling like you made the 'right' choice. Not say like the Kotor Series where you have to play a 'bad guy' to see the 'bad' ending.

Lucibel: SecuRom leaked its own no-disk check by mistake some time ago , so I play my retail GTAIV without a disk.

Does anyone still have a copy of that? As it seems to have been removed.

Yeah it was tempting, but I already picked Batman up in the earlier series of one day sales for $25.
I hover over the buy now button for Armored Princess. It seems to reuse a lot of graphics/areas from King's Bounty. I love KB but I'm not sure I want to pay full fare for a lot of rehash. Its $26 at the moment~~~
Bought Torchlight, Outrun 2006 and Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast. I also bought STALKER even though my pc can't run it. It was only $2, saving it for whenever I get a a new pc
spent 25 bucks on steam
got lucasarts adventure pack consisting of the dig, loom and both indiana jones games (bought it really only for fate of atlantis which i once almost finished like fifteen years ago (god. time passes so quick) or more.
ben there dan that (seeing how many of you finished the game i presumed it must be good) together with Time Gentlemen, Please!
GTAIV
The secret of Monkey Island: SE
and Chronicles of Riddick Assault on dark Athena
I also thought about gettin Tales of Monkey Island but it is only ten bucks cheaper. will get it some different time and those 25 bucks will go to GOG
waiting for my parents to send me my CC number so i can buy the games from gog
also got mirror's edge!

Hmm.
retail (zavvi.com)
Batman: Arkham Asylum PC €21.43
Fallout 3: Game Of The Year Edition PC €17.93
Borderlands PC €15.43
total: €54.79
Steam Holiday deal:
Batman: Arkham Asylum €33,49
Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition €37,49
Borderlands €33,49
total: €104,47
no comment
I also bought Luxor 3 for $1.
This was what I was hoping for, huge discounts on Indie games.
I've got about $150 to spend this christmas period on games. $40 has already been used to buy The Saboteur in retail, the rest will be split between GoG and Steam's respective holiday sales.
Damn you steam and your firefox hanging front page! anyway is the witcher any good?
Re: The Witcher -- It's worth the $14. It sort of lacks in the choice and consequence department and the combat is fairly weak but the atmosphere is good overall.

lukaszthegreat: also got mirror's edge!

I think you'll really enjoy Mirror's Edge. While it's nowhere near perfect, it's a fresh take on the action genre.
