Ubivis: oh my god... they shall increase the requirement to $200 instead, $50 is so easy to get by just using indy pack steam codes :(

I don't really like to know how many of the 50K members are duplicate accounts.

Fever_Discordia: I haven't investigated the Indy packs too closely - why is it so easy to get hold of the codes? Moreover, how do I do it :-D
At least this thread won't just be people posting invite codes every time it turns white now - not that I don't think that people posting the codes werebn't doing a good job - good on yas!
the humble bundle can be bought for a penny (if your evul enough to do something so low) and the royales for a couple of quid.. each have 4-10 games that register on steam and steam gifts calculates as if you paid full price.. a single copy of the HIB3 would get you on steamgifts
Wait, what? What is this SteamGifts?

This.

You can sign up, if you have Steam account worth at least 50USD, and then you can enter giveaways created by people and try to win games or create your own giveaways and gift games to other people.

Prodigious!

But seriously, that's awesome. I would only imagine that you don't really win a whole lot, but still, free games ARE free games.

Really, not too much. Some public giveways can have more than 4000 participants so you can count chances for winning yourself.
You can see here it's not easy to win something.
It took me 237 attempts to win my first giveaway.

Do you have the Humble Introversion bundle yet? It's still on sale.

I do now actually, since I posted that, thanks though!
The Humble Bundles have been investigated and I am now up to speed!
Yay!

Thought so. I mean, even without a high chance of winning, this is still pretty neat. Especially when you take into account that it's free. Hopefully my first giveaway won't take as long :)
What really puzzles me is why so many people would just give away games? Are these mostly failed gifts? Like someone buys you a game you already own so you give it away to someone else on steamgifts.com?

Not that i'm complaining at a chance to win games for free. It's just a bit strange in a world filled with greed.

You need 20 rep here first - come back when you've paid your dues!
there are still invites there? Havent they changed model for steam account value?
No, you don't need invites anymore to join steamgifts.com. And the 20 rep was a requirement for the GOG.com Gift Club (which doesn't exist BTW), but the rules are being revised.
