DodoGeo: There is a GOG group?
Pretty sure that he just meant an invite into the service/site, not to a particular group there. SteamGifts seems to be invite only at the moment.

Same here, but you gotta remember that if every contest ends with 500 entries, your success rate would be something like 1 win per 500 attempts.

Yeah, whereas to win other public giveaways/contests, like the daily scratch-card prize from this that gives MtG: Duels of the Planeswalkers, also redeemable on Steam, is likely something smaller than 1 in 10,000 odds, if that. :P

Hah I actually couldn't resist signing up for that... and then I lost. *sigh*

Oh and I created a giveaway at steamgifts for the Shooter pack that's on sale right now just to test it out. It's open for everyone though so expect poor odds.

Oh the scratchcard game thing is a daily thing.. which is why the odds are so low, there are only 140 copies given away over the lifetime of the contest (Jun 15-Nov 1st) and everyone can enter it every day and lose every day heh. On subsequent entries you only have to give your email address (for a bonus chance for the big prize) and it takes you right to the scratchie though, so I do it anyway. :P
