The only information Steam sends across is the 64-bit Steam ID that just logged in. Everyone's Steam ID is freely viewable, so it's not sensitive information. For example, mine is 76561198020696458.
Navagon, that's the nature of Open ID. We have no account details, so there is zero risk if our server is compromised. If someone had complete access to our database, they would have nothing of value, but simply links to Steam profiles.
If you check the Steam forums, they even link to SteamGameSales from their Sticky post with nearly 2 million views regarding sales. It's another site I run with the exact same login system.
