Can't say I see the point of this thing, you need to use the usual payment systems that steam accepts to add funds to the wallet so doesn't look like its not for those people who don't want to give their credit card information to a company on the internet...
I sort of hope they do let you use these as gifts, that'd make it nice & easy to get around their regional discrimination, I buy a $50 card for someone and they use it to gift me a game that costs $90 here
StingingVelvet: Looking into how the PS3 works I see that there is a minimum purchase of $5 and anything less than that you must spend $5 and then the difference goes in your wallet.
Yeah, thats a bit annoying especially since so many things are priced at something like $9.95 rather than $10 so you've always got small change left.
