Yeah, before I buy the best Star Wars RPG EVER, does this particular game require Steam to be online to play, or is offline play an option?
Also, since I never figured this out, does Steam track your offline playtime?
Offline is always an option with Steam games, except the multiplayer ones. After installing the game, just set Steam for offline mode and play all you want. Not sure about the tracking thing, never really looked into it myself.

All right, thanks. I was curious about that as well after buying Splinter Cell....Ah, the joy of watching terrorist bodies fall from lighthouses...
Or... you could find it (easily) as a boxed version.

For...20 bucks IF I can find it in retail since this hick ass state of Texas doesn't carry shit.

Well the game is good (you said it, "the best Star Wars RPG") and worth the price.
Yeah, but I'd take Steam's shit tacular DRM over 10 dollars more for a game I can't even find.

I haven't seen KotOR on store shelves by itself for a LONG time, but If you're interested, there is a $40 collection of five Star Wars games, including KotOR, that you might be able to find. I don't think there's a software retailer in my area that doesn't have a few copies of this in stock.
I never bought it, though, because the other four games don't really interest me, and KotOR by itself isn't worth $40 to me.

I'd have a look for the "best of star wars on PC" bundle, which is available all over the place in the UK, and I would imagine is easily found by using Amazon or some similar online retailer.
edit: should point out that the bundle includes KOTOR, Jedi Outcast and three others... can't remember which off the top of my head...
edit2: ninja'd!

I highly doubt the quality of steam, as a whole.

Already own 3 of the 5 games, so why bother paying 40 for the other 2?
I nabbed it on Steam, grabbed a high resolution mod, and enjoyed.

because you won't own the games through steam, you'll be renting them.
why rent the greatest starwars rpg ever when you could buy it?

.....I could really use a shotgun to the head right now...fucking migraines. I have had no issues with Steam, so I'll just buy it...What is Direct 2 Drives version with? Any DRM?
I forgot to mention that if you go the way of a high-res .exe to play the game (which I definitely recommend, looks great, assuming you have a higher resolution monitor than the game accommodates for), you won't need Steam to be open to play the game.
