Mivas: I have Steam version and can confirm what you said. The core game runs fine "offline", DLCs require EA authorization each time.
Omg... this crap convinces me never to buy anything which has to do something with EA. I want to play my games offline, and while offline, i don't want to deal with crap when I have no net connection, I just want to fire up the game and be done with it...
Thank you GOG for giving me this opportunity (besides pirating of course - but those days are gone).

Well, you can run it offline, but you won't get any DLC content then :D And you can't load a saved game with DLCs if you're not connected :D

... thus making the game not enjoyable. I'll stick to gog games and developers/publishers/deals who offer drm-free content. For example Egosoft always offered after some time a no-drm exe for their games, thus making them worthy of my money.

I can't seem to see a 3rd choice for some reason....
Neither can I - my guess is the third choice is a US only title

reaver894: finally worth getting half life 2? I never got all that far in the first but ive heard good things about HL2
It's a good game but if you didn't like Half-Life I wouldn't bother with its sequel. Valve made some huge innovations in stuff like facial animation and physics but the gunplay is inferior and the campaign is a bit too long/ stretched out.

OK I was just checking my Steam wishlist to see what was reduced significantly from there
I noted 3 things:

Games I'd activated from bundles or been gifted from compos like Brutal Legend and GeneForge were still on there and I don't see an option to remove them - anyone know how?

I'd added SiN but now the link points to SiN Ep 1: Emergance so I guess the original game is no longer on Steam but I thought it was kind of a Valve deved thing? did anyone notice at the time? Is that it for getting SiN on DD now then?

I noticed a sign on Manhunt that says that its not compatible with Win 7 or Vista - is it possible to get it running with a bit of fiddling or is it completely borked, does anyone know?

Cheers

Runs fine on Win7 for me - dont remember having to do any fiddling either - just compatability mode

If I'm not wrong, if you buy SiN episodes, you will get original SiN as a bonus for free. It's not sold separately anymore.

For each game in your wishlist there is a little remove button after the date.

I was just googling around and it seems other people have had issues finding it / having it appear, seems it only appears in the client, not on the site and you also have to be logged into Steam Community so I'll try that tonight when I'm home

Cool, cheers, it can stay then, I'm sure I'll get it working somehow even if it's not as easy for me as it was for you

I think that was the deal for a while but you can't even get it that way any more
Although someone did seem to think an old retail code for SiN episodes would probably unlock both, if you could get one...

Couldnt see a third choice either.
Also the Flash Deals were missing for about 5-10minutes before they appeared lol

Do they really need to start shuffling repeat deals from Flash to Daily to Community vote?. It was one of the big valid criticisms of the last Steam sale and they are doing the same thing again this time :/

Except somehow it's worse thus year, with games getting their third sale only halfway through the sale. Plus the game pool seems excruciatingly small compared to last year.
