I'm tempted to buy Fallout 3: New Vegas. It doesn't look like it will appear on GOG anytime soon. I wonder - Is it more like Fallout 3 than Fallout 2?

I hold FO2 in high regards for its story-heavy quests, humour and many chatty NPCs with unique lines. FO3 bored me to stiff because of absence of these aspects. It has like 1 responding person per 1 city with Oblivion kind of lines; all dubbed by same person and having recycled generic lines.

I'm unsure I will like it. People say it's a true successor of FO1 and FO2 but on the other hand, the game is recommended to people who seek Skyrim's duplicate.

Just messing around trying to get cards (I'm desperate for moneyz), I fricking beat the Binding of Issac for the first time, after not having played it in ten months. I even perfected Mom. Granted, I somehow got Sacred Heart, but darnit this may be my greatest gaming moment in years.

Edit: and reading that people have ten times the game time I have (five hours) before they beat her makes me feel even better! HUZZAH~!

Edit 2: And then I beat her again. WTF man.

The best way I can describe it is that the game mechanics are similar to Oblivion, FO3, and Skyrim, but the quest and writing style is similar to FO1/2.

I though Secret Files 3 might get around 75% off since it'd been so cheap on Amazon recently. I reckon the chances of it getting a higher discount in this sale is low, yeah?

You can always try Nexus Mod Manager. I doubt it's as efficient as Steam's Workshop but it's still easier than manually throwing in zips. It's also useful to easily disable one or several mods in case you find issues and need to find which one is causing the conflict.

Yeah, i did that, it constantly hid the download progress of my mods, then it crashed. Still, You need to play around with some extra apps, script extenders and such, edit ini's etc, i just really don't have the time or the patience the hassle anymore, i was hoping that after 4 years we'd have a neat way to install mods, where the mod managers handle the inis etc. And then i saw mods still not being merged with their own updates, gah. I found a few good forum posts about installing all those mods, but i just don't have the patience for that anymore.;/ It's kinda funny, i had less problems with Minecraft, which was of course a much smaller game, but was in it's time infested with a zillion APIs and absolutely no standards.
I redownloaded F3, and i'll try it again later with FOMM, when my mind can handle 20 zips and remembering where each goes.

Why do you need 20 different mods? Just download the unofficial patches (which make up 15 or so of the mods in question) and that leaves you free to only have 3-6 mods to install versus the 20. Unless I'm mistaken about what's contained in the unofficial patches ;)

Not 20 mods, 20 zips, not every mod consists of 1 zip, some consist of the mod and 2 updates which for some reason weren't merged with the release. I'm talking about FOOK, WMK, MMM, Wanderer's Edition, Texture Packs, Fallout Reanimated, Fellout, Project Beauty and some patches. I guess i was hoping for a neat mod manager where i would browse the mods, click "download those and their updates, download dependancies, make my game mod ready, install them and sort out the incompabilities" and what i see is the exact same state that i we had 4 years ago: "here's some files, go figure it out".
