in my case ive gotten games i wanted on deal - and some random bargains i wouldnt have tried otherwise (great really) but i also find the lack of discount on some games annoying (zero on the stalker games so far as an example) and some games that should really be in a higher discount bracket not seeing it - though im sure they will later on, i have a limited budget - really quite limited.
guess i can see your point and the other then! not too bad!
I'm torn. I've only got six dollars to spend on this sale, so I've been holding out passing up on tempting offers.

But all the NV DLC (I own the base game from years ago) for about five bucks is very tempting. Only other deal close to this was the Y's flash deal.

Goatbrush: Anyone got any RPG recommendations from the sale? I've had an RPG itch for a while, JRPG maybe. Nothing too modern as my machine is getting a bit dated now.

I was considering The Last Remnant but I'm not sure. I've heard mixed things.
I like TLR quite a bit. It's one of my favorite new games this generation, although as you can probably (not) tell from my avatar I'm a SaGa fan so I'm a bit biased lol.

Part of the reason it's disliked by some people is because like the SaGa games it uses nontraditional leveling and has some complex systems below the surface, is a bit fuzzier on stat numbers as a result and more about acting with common sense in battle. But people freak out because they have weird misconceptions about how the games work and feel the need to compulsively min/max, and end up playing in a very stupid manner that makes everything harder than if they just played normally.

(also, ys series is pretty nice)

by the fact the NV dlc is that amount seperate from the game i reckon you'd be better with other stuff right noe (not played it but as ultimate edition is five...)
I also recommend TLR. There's more to that game then just grinding. You have to balance the mechanics against each other. You *want* to fight things, and build up "chain" so you can improve your characters better, but at the same time, you don't want to exceed your BR, which you get primarily through new areas and new harder enemies. You don't "level" in the traditionally sense. More enemies you fight in a location, the higher the chain count, the higher the odds of you improving skills or abilities in battles, with an Elder Scroll's like system of improvement. Want to be better at magic? Cast spells.

It's a fantastic PC port that runs super well, the battle mechanics are really fun and deep if you want to invest the time and effort. There are things I don't like about the game, basically the seeming unfairness in monster/enemy design at times and it suffers from jRPG troupes such as needing to speak to the one specific person in the entire world to advance the story, and battle fatigue from so many fights.

But I'd say it's definitely worth a pickup if you want something new in a jRPG.

Only 2-3 of the DLC are worth it from what i know . I have the game but yet to play it :)
What's the bet that Dead Island Riptide wins the Community Choice vote? If it does it will be such a waste since it's obviously going to be a Daily Deal.

Aren't they all a waste though? Left4Dead 2 is a Valve game so of course it's going to be on a daily Deal as well, and Infestation: Survivor Stories is just the new name of The WarZ, so we are probably doing a favor to people by keeping them from buying it.
Damn it. I voted for the warz by accident. I was tired and didn't want the other 2, so I clicked the 3rd without looking at it.

I voted for it not knowing that's what it was. I bet that's how they get 90% of their business.

mushy101: This card selling thing is fucking crazy. Made almost £5 in selling the cards I have stocked up upon just by FINISHING the games I brought in the past.

A fiver out of nothing, nothing I tell you. ;)
Yeah, it's great, isn't it?

I decided to check the trading cards thing when it was officially released and earned around 25 dollars on a single day (thanks to a Brütal Legend foil card)!!! And a very kind soul gave me FTL in exchange for six of those summer cards.

A lot of poor saps will be doing that probably :)

I don't even understand how this thing works. I just played about an hour of Civ 5, and got three cards. There's really people willing to buy or trade for these? Is it just random what cards you get in a game, and you can get the same card multiple times? Why would anyone want multiples of the same card?

Never been into trading card games, so that may be why this makes zero sense to me.
