Profanity: New Vegas Ultimate Edition for 5$ is such a crazy bargain that it makes me cringe that people are even thinking should they or should they not get it.

Also, NW doesn't have the same problems F3 has on W7.

Smannesman: That is pretty much what I was thinking, agonizing over $5 (which is what, the price of a sandwich?) seems a bit much.
The only problem with NV is that the engine is overly sensitive (or crap) and that makes it really hard to tell if it's going to run fine on a certain system or not. I've played through it four times (so yes, it can be fun) and the last two times were very crashy. The fourth time strangely enough only got crashy after about 30 hours of gametime strangely enough.
But still, $5 for an easy 30-60 hours of gameplay?
There are people like me, who got their hours sliced in half (with taxes taking a bigger percentage out than usual on top of that) and thus cringe even at paying 2.12 for a burger and drink at McDonald's. As much as I want NV, I can't touch it. Unless I sell enough trading cards to get it for free, but then it's a question of this or that.

DaCostaBR:
I'm also really tempted by this having missed it at christmas

DaCostaBR: What about Doom 3 BFG? Is it any good?

I remember people saying it was bad, at least before this version was released. Mind you I've never played the original Doom games, or any of those old FPS's, so I was thinking about making my way back slowly.
Yes i wonder that too. Also is there any rumor that ID software will come to GOG soon?

KJGamer: for those not sure about getting both fallout 3 and New vegas get them both for $5 each both goty/ultimate editions that much content is worth it.

Also mods makes two pretty good games 10 times better
Sadly I'm torn due to lack of funds - its one or the other - or other game(s).

Edit: actually I could buy the base game of each as another option

DaCostaBR: not final fantasy
I've heard that it's hard as balls, because the game barely tells you anything about your current status and levels and bloody everything has some sort of level attached to it.

ah :( I know how that is.

Not sure how much help this will be but if you played FO1 /FO2 and liked them you will most likely enjoy NV more (also in my in my opinion NV has better writing)

If you want more of an post apocalyptic destroyed major city vibe go with fo3

oh and again whatever game you get mods will really add to the games

anyway both games are good and fo3 was what got me into the series but I like nv a little bit more (NV was what got me to buy fo1 and 2 from gog )

edit: also one more thing fo3 tends to crash on windows 7 but you can find fixes that help with that like from Gophersvids youtube chn

edit 2: arkham city is a great game have fun with it lol

Ah well, I'm a shopaholic.
And out of a job.
So I get being careful, for me that is just $9.99 and up.

There's a few tricks it seems. Apparently the enemies level scale to match your battle rank (which does not indicate how strong you are, just how many fights you've won), so if you fight very little they stay weaker. Also, the bigger the difference in battle rank between you and the enemy the bigger the stat boosts you gain at the end.

That being said, you can still fight monsters with higher battle rank than you if you look for them, even if you do increase yours, and they scale according to the first time you enter an area, so you could leave do a few other quests and come back much stronger than them.

It's all good :) My muddy puddle is one of a kind... wait, that just sounds so.... wrong.... lol
Picked up Postal for just a buck and a quarter. Grabbed Doom 3 BFG for five bucks. Score!

I've been liking this sale a lot as usual. There's always great stuff you don't have if you look for it. I'm probably going to pick up the Heretic/Hexen bundle for six bucks before it's over. That's only $1.50 per classic game. I saw somebody bitch about it "only" being 40% off. $1.50 each for those good classics? How cheap do they need to be before it is "okay?"

I don't get some of the complaints about the sale sucking. I guess maybe those folks own a thousand or more games and there's just nothing left they care about although in that case, the sale doesn't suck because you already have everything. It is still great for those who do not.
