For those of you waiting for the Ys games to go on sale, they are all currently 66% off, which is likely as high as they'll get.

I'm noticing the sales are not as high as in past years, but they're still decent in most cases.

Don't feel bad, I'd really like Ys I & II and Origin, but I won't even have the money for them next week, either :B Stupid razor blades costing so much.... lol

"Anyone play Year of the Snake, the Sleeping Dogs DLC? A reliable source has told me that the Zodiac Tourney and that Zombie DLC are pretty subpar and not really worth either the money or the time."

Crosmando: Good Steam games that aren't available elsewhere DRM-free? Hmmmm.... I suppose there's the Half-Life games.... And KOTOR II (modded)... Morrowind (modded) I guess? Well, there you go son, 4 good games, go have fun.

Vast majority of Steam's stock is some of the worst mainstream shovelware shit imaginable, crappy console ports galore. There's more worth in a few of GOG's classic than the entire Steam store, the only reason these sales are successful is because of Westerners with high disposable incomes who just buy them because they're cheap, and will likely never play them.

Granted there's some decent indie games on Steam, but none which aren't available elsewhere without Steamworks DRM slapped on them.

Sure yeah, celebrate your Steam sale, celebrate collecting a backlog of worthless games you don't own.
Oh god, haven't seen this much edge in a while.

I'm not 100% but iirc it's Ys: Origin, Ys: 1, Ys: 2, Ys: Oath at Felganna

Meh. I don't really >need< the games. I just want them for when I get around to playing the one I have. Starting to take a more buddhist approach on life and not lamenting what I don't have so much anymore.

Plus, I really >really< would love to see the Ys games on GOG, so if I bought them on Steam there'd be a lower chance I'd re-buy them on GOG ;)

From what I understand the content DLC for Sleeping Dogs is fun, and worth the sale price. I personally haven't bought any of it, but the zombie one especially was supposed to be pretty good. Light fare, though. As I recall I think each content pack is only 1-3 hours a piece.

this will definitely happen, and soon, now that i snagged the final Ys game on offer on sale.

I think this is hard... being the giant pain that was to get those on Steam, and I don't see it being sold on other places...

And I still wait and hope for an official release of Xanadu-Next... ;p (uh, for our side of the world, I mean.. ;p)
