Few more hours of idling and I gonna get myself some free DLC... :P

Crosmando: Good Steam games that aren't available elsewhere DRM-free? Hmmmm.... I suppose there's the Half-Life games.... And KOTOR II (modded)... Morrowind (modded) I guess? Well, there you go son, 4 good games, go have fun.

Vast majority of Steam's stock is some of the worst mainstream shovelware shit imaginable, crappy console ports galore. There's more worth in a few of GOG's classic than the entire Steam store, the only reason these sales are successful is because of Westerners with high disposable incomes who just buy them because they're cheap, and will likely never play them.

Granted there's some decent indie games on Steam, but none which aren't available elsewhere without Steamworks DRM slapped on them.

Sure yeah, celebrate your Steam sale, celebrate collecting a backlog of worthless games you don't own.
If you hate Steam and all the games there that much, why the fuck are you posting in a Steam Summer sale thread? Don't you have anything better to do with your time other than posting your usual elitist crap? Like playing games maybe?

Neobr10: Not for me, unless it's an indie bundle.
You do realize that there are still 9 days of sales left, right?

Common sense doesn't work with Crosmando. Forget about trying to convince him with rational arguments.

Crosmando: Okay, then wake me up when Steam puts a discount on a good game. I haven't seen one so far.
I know, there are at the moment 3188 items on sale on Steam, and not a single one of them is good.... You have some really high standards on quality.

Anyway, I got Clive Barker's Jericho for £0.89 two days ago, and I am enjoying it. It is perhaps not the most cerebral game out there, but the body swapping concept is fun and interesting, the character designs is very Clive Barker and the whole time traveling bit reminds me actually a little bit about Quake 2. I you are really looking for something, I would advise to take a punt on it.
Boo-urns...I still haven't gotten my 5 cents...=|

amok: Quake 2.
Damn... There were so many great deals on id games before, but no. Zenimax/Bethesda acquired the IP, and now we got meh deals at best >.<
Anyone play Year of the Snake, the Sleeping Dogs DLC? A reliable source has told me that the Zodiac Tourney and that Zombie DLC are pretty subpar and not really worth either the money or the time.

Well, I would advise you to take a punt on Jericho also - but I guess it is not on your wishlist :)

I got the complete iD collection on Steam a couple of years ago (from my better half), so I do not actually follow the prices on them anymore, and can't comment....

bought it like 3 years ago for the same price that it's discounted today.

Quake collection was around $7.50 on sales before Bethesda. Now it's 17.99

Nice, it is better than I expected. Do you agree it has a slight Quake 2 feeling to it?

Yeah, but I think I'm starting to manage my backlogs lately. Mostly because I switched almost every free penny to my new hobby - board games. So I started actually PLAYING the games I bought...
Oooh, Hitman: Absolution up for voting
Also, Arkham City GOTY 75% off

FantasyNightmare: Also, Arkham City GOTY 75% off
I picked that up in the Winter Sale last year for the same price - And coincidentally started playing it yesterday, after finally starting, playing and completing Arkham Asylum. So far, I mostly prefer Asylum.

Yeah, especially after THAT Nightmare sequence, City had some big shoes to fill
