amok: The difference is opening up gog and thinking "I wonder what will be on sale today" and "god, is it not over yet? I hoped they got back to normal by now"
In both cases GOG earned the same amount of money from you and GOG doesn't care at all.

With steam sales for over a year I have "Oh, it's about time to see new daily deals. Maybe this time they will show something interesting.... Nope. Shitty day again."

And I wish I'd know everything on steam on one day, it would spare me 14 days of constant disappointements.

On GOG, you could just buy what you wanted and go freaking PLAYING the games you bought, instead of constant sitting on your ass, hoping for a better deal, and be surprised there wasn't any better deal than you already seen all over the net.

You come for sales as some amusement park with a strive for novelty. I come for games. But it's a new trend I believe, when sales, clients, stores are about everything rather than just games. You earn some cards, badges, "surprises", and forget that after all, it's just about buying and playing games.

Those cards are awesome. They've supplied me with enough steam wallet cash for the Summer Sale. I'm set and it's all thanks to these cards!

You're welcome. I don't tell you how to have fun, why do you insult my intelligence if I want to have fun collecting one more thing?

Sorry, my opinion is just people who pay real money for virtual badges are not the brightest people in the world.

It's just an opinion, you can live with that.

On the other hand, it's not that different from collecting staples or butterflies...

Is it normal for money gained from selling cards to disappear? I sold one of my things, got money for it, then it disappeared at some point =|

No worries. Same could be said for alcohol, tobacco or vehicles that need a race track to properly function. Also same could be told for almost any kind of collection, be it a complete collection of music albums or a complete set of photographs from the moon landing. Just accept that different people get their kicks in different ways, shrug, and ignore us.
Now to go look for more cards ;)

It shouldn't. Not sure if the market allows for chargebacks, so I'd suggest you check your e-mail for the receipt of selling the item, and also the market history to see if it still says you sold it.
Unless of course you bought something with said money, in which case you have a wrong smiley ;)

gandalf.nho: The DLCs were already on sale yesterday during the Legendary Edition one (at 50%)
avatar
Smannesman: That wasn't a sale, they're cheaper to get in stores.
Anything below 66% can't even rightly be called a sale, that's just inflation compensation.
For this sale I guess will be hard to see a better price for the DLCs (don't remembered seeing a Dragonborn promo before this Steam sale, many Skyrim ones, but always without the DLCs...)

Sure. I just think in this all metagaming and gamification processes people forget to actually enjoy games they have. I observe people playing some games just because they can earn cards in that. So they don't really enjoy the game, they are doing a labour to earn some virtual cards that mean absolutely nothing.

If you're enjoying this, that's ok, I shouldn't insult people who do, sorry. I still believe paying real money for cards is insane, but hey... whatever rocks your boat.

Nope, didn't buy anything with it, I just sold some thing for 7 cents =\ Also, I have the transaction record and the email telling me I sold it.

I'd say wait a bit longer, maybe logging off steam and back on, but if it doesn't fix itself in the next few hours, contact steam support. At least you should get your item back.
Steam's servers are FUBAR at the moment, so... wait, I guess?

No worries, I do enjoy the collecting much more than the playing, for different reasons each. Plus, since you can idle to get the cards, I do have the option of chatting/working while I wait for the drops.
Bad case of OCPD, though I don't think GOG minds ;)
Sigh, ok, I can wait. I mean I don't give a shit about the 5 cents I got from it, but it seems pretty messed up for it to just disappear.

Except what I am as a customer is left feeling is "gog sales are a bit meh, but steam sales are a bit exciting". If the point in the end is that one company only cares about money, while another cares about customer relations - you are going a bit against the stream here :)
