Ragnarblackmane: Get Empire at War instead. More fun, more mods, AND people still play online, or did last time I checked about a year ago.
avatar
Neobr10: They're completely different games. Battlefront 2 is a FPS, Empire at War is a RTS.
Doh! Totally right, I was thinking of THIS title:

My bad!
good evening all

i think the steam summer sale this year was not soooo god!

Many games i already had, to much early access and overall the price drops where not so heavy! ..but that's maybe only for me so!

in the end i got a few games, not much money. last year, for the same amount of money i got more :( ...way more!

there are so many games what i like to play,.. but still not dropped in privce to much as i could buy!

(yeah, i like my englsih)

at least they had AoW3 for 20€ ^^

madth3: Steam insists putting Star Wars Battlefront in a sale when the official multiplayer servers are no longer online.

Does anyone think this could be worthy of the $3.40?
avatar
Neobr10: What's the problem with that? The game is not multiplayer only. In fact, the single player is quite decent for a multiplayer focused game. Not to mention that the game is playable online with Gameranger.

It's definitely worth it for U$3.40.
Ah, thank you. That (or the opposite) was the kind of opinion I was expecting.

AngryAlien: OR, since I am german, I can only get the censored version and I will NEVER pay money for something like that.
FYI you could always send someone the steambucks and have them gift the uncensored version to you.

I agree, this year is pretty underwhelming which made me kinda happy in a way I didn't have to break my word that I would never every buy anything directly from Steam unless they change their ridiculous euro pricing. :D

Did you mean to post this at the end of the Steam sale? The way you talk makes it sound like it ended already :)

Here we picked up these games so far:

Age of Wonders III
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Collection
2x Battleblock Theater
Final Fantasy VIII
Spore Complete Pack
Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition

My biggest issue is having a ton of the regularly discounted games already. And Ubisoft can suck it if they never put that Brothers in Arms pack over 40% anymore ^^

I actually like this Steam Sale. Upgraded my computer from early 2000 and now I got almost a decade of catching up, which means a crapload of new games to try out. And a Steam Summer sale is a great way to get caught up. Already snagged a few I always wanted to try and a few impulse purchases.

The adventure thing was good at the start, one could make a killing from the cards.

Likewise. However has not knocked my socks off the way the youtubes made it out to be =)
Papers Please
Fable The Lost Chapters
Brothers
Mars: War Logs

Still may pick up BioShock Infinite but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I've already gotten more than I did the winter sale so it's good so far. Plus a little bit of money selling steam cards.

I know, I traded a couple of games, like Dead Island or L4D 2. But this will not always work, Wolfenstein: TNO for instance is region locked.
I agree the discounts don't seem as great as the Winter sale but yet so far I've nabbed:

Borderlands 2 GOTY (+6 DLC not in GOTY)
Skyrim Legendary
Battleblock Theater
Castle Crashers (+2 DLC)
Lego Marvel Super Heroes (+2 DLC)
State of Decay (+1 DLC)
Alice is on sale. Would kinda like to play it for the story, but I have a feeling it'd give me nightmares. I wonder if there's a "sunshine and butterflies" mod?

(Should mention, it's not the story I find frightening. It's the imagery)

Looks interesting. Added to my "once I clear some games" list.
I'm still undecided about Dishonored. GOTY or no GOTY that is the question...

Contrary to most people's preferences (at least that's how it seems to me), I usually buy the 'standard' (non-GOTY) version (did that with Dishonored, too). My backlog is big enough that I don't need DLC that adds extra content/game time...I just go on to the next game once I finish the main storyline, usually.
