synfresh: LOL at all the hate. Meanwhile the sale probably made more money in the past 30 minutes than any other distributor in the past 4 hours. Almost 8 million users on the site now.
Glad I don't care since from me due to regional pricing it's Steam summer rip off.

Quiet start for a Steam Summer Sale event, indeed.

It seem to calm down a lot this year, bundles rain and crazy discounts.. Computer gaming market is healthy enough to stomach this, I guess. Not a bad thing IMHO, it add more value to the work of the game makers, and help the ordinary joe's appreciation of playing them.

Is it worth it to buy both XCOM Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within or EW includes everything from EU?

I believe on the PC EW is an expansion to EU, so EU is required. On the consoles, EW is a standalone title.

Yeah, Enemy Within requires Enemy Unknown.

It's worth it, but when you get tired of Enemy Within, there's Long War.

XCOM EU+EW +DLC has a base price of 30 euro. I might grab it at 75% discount (7,5 euro). Quite expensive but I have 12 euro in my Steam Wallet, from selling trading cards.
