So, which are the two reject months?

iainmet: Steam, love it or hate it. You can't deny that it has been one of the major contributing factors to keeping PC gaming alive today.
Dude, reason, that's not going to work here ...

I honestly think the GOG vs Steam business is becoming like Sony vs Microsoft in the console wars.

I know, its a shame really, the people that refuse Steam are missing out on some great new titles. Not forgetting supporting devs which in turn keeps new games coming to us end users. So be it though, its their loss really.

I have a good friend on another forum that has a Steam account and had only a few games on there, didn't like it much at all. He has now warmed to Steam after I was gifting him loads of the spare stuff that I already owned from bundles. He actually likes the platform now and can see its merits. He doesn't show his profile or get involved with the community stuff but his gaming on there has been trouble free.

July and October are quite useless. hmm... maybe I should make a thread about how bad they are.

Hesusio: Bah, ripping on Steam is so mainstream. The only digital distribution service thingy I voice dislike over is Xbox Live.

But seriously, Xbox Live is ass. The prices are slightly less pleasant than a rectal exam from the man with the World's Fattest Fingers.
No ripping on EA is more Mainstream than anyother thing, any article related to EA and I cannot take seriously the comments that post on it.
Eh, Steam BLOWS, vacuum sucks! Get it right people!

[edit: oh, i can post again, yay!]

Azilut: Nimrod was the king who was responsible for building the tower of Babel, leading to the confusion of tongues. Thus 'nimrod', a babbling idiot. Dante depicts him in Inferno as a giant whose speech is unintelligible.

But yes, he is also described in the Bible as a "mighty hunter".
avatar
Thunderstone: nimrod is another term for an idiot. I sometimes use it too. I have never heard in used in reference to a hunter.
avatar
Theta_Sigma: Well to be fair mythological references are to the great grandson of Noah, according to Christian Mythology. Now, that being said, it has a variety of connotations to warriors AND idiots, depending on the context and area of the world in which you are saying it. It's like saying something is bad when you mean good, or weak when you mean lame or lame excuse. ^_^ The more you know...G-I-JOE!

Also, I happen to like Steam, it's still a valuable power source, and means of cooking foo-...Oh you meant the service/client...carry on.
That's interesting. Here nobody uses it to call someone idiot. Well, it isn't used as hunter too often as well, but all poeple who know it would tell you its hunter, not idiot.

avatar
swaimiac: From what I read the term Nimrod transmuted from "great hunter" to idiot because Bugs Bunny called Elmer Fudd "Nimrod" (not "a nimrod", he actually used it as a name, not a description). Because Bugs is always getting the best of Elmer, people naturally assumed Nimrod means idiot. Perhaps not everyone thought this, but it was used so much in the US to refer to an idiot, it just stuck.
Hm, I just made some research and it looks like you are right. That's really interesting evolution of its meaning. It's fortunate he didn't call him Jesus. :-)

Pft, I don't use grid view so I've never seen that. That's kind of hilarious.

Is there a special trick to make a screenshot of the full list like that? O.o

SirPrimalform: And mustard, radishes, horse radish, wasabi, kale, turnips, swedes, rape and probably others.

EDIT: Others.
avatar
bevinator: Those are all similar and in many cases are in the same genus, but they aren't the same species, except kale. Kale is the only one that's awesome bro-tier B. oleracea.
Damn, confusing species and genus again. I have a friend who is a biologist, I bet she'd be hitting me if she knew...
