I have problem with Steam. From time to time it insists that game that I've installed and played already, is not really installed when I'm trying to launch it. It's rare, but it's extremely annoying when it happens. I always check if games files are really on HD and they always are, but it seems that Steam can't see them. Sometimes restarting Steam helps, but sometimes not and then I'm forced to reinstall whole game which takes 45min - 1h of time and if it was prearranged multiplayer game session with friends, then it forces us to cancel it, so it's a big deal for me. Yesterday it also happened to my friend, so it seems that it's not a problem with my PC.

Anyone knows how to fix it? I've tried to contact Steam support, but after they sent me few 'basic' answers, they stopped replying to me.
Would Steam's forum be more helpful then GOG's for this, maybe?

Well, I never posted on Steam forums and when I had problem with it in the past and I posted about it in here, then I found answer very quickly. If I won't get my answer here, I will ask it eventually there. I think that my question won't disturb other people and it fits well among other relevant topics like "I bought new pet", "I hate candies" etc. ;) and it's just simpler for me to ask here, instead on Steam forums.
Oh ok. I'm new here and just found it a bit weird to be asking about Steam on GOG but I understand now.

Can't help, but I feel it. Every time Steam tells me "your game is not available right now" I feel like smashing the screen.
Have you tried this ?
Stop using Steam - problem solved.

No.

And most Steam users have been banned from their help forums anyway. XD

New to the Steam boards as well, apparently.

Most of my Steam questions or complaints I find myself mentioning here.

If your Steam issues are not written in perfect glorification of Valve, the mods will find reason to delete your thread and ban you from using the main boards.

Maybe you mentioned piracy, maybe you had a pic of boobs in you avatar, maybe you just used the word 'damn.'

Yeah, and to this day Valve has never found a work around to fix that prank.

In the instance of Steam, their client IS the DRM - Hence why there's a lot of hokey pokey that has to take place before you run out of sight with your games.

I thought you were talking about the " old " Steam forums . I saw banned people with over 2000 reps .
Never had this issue. Weird. Could be because it's installed in non-default folder?
