Yeah, I've also asked them about PayNova as it appears to no longer be an option. I also checked PayPal again yesterday at it seems they now offer the ability to select who's exchange rate you use (theirs or your credit card -- it defaults to PayPal's higher rate). An option I'm sure was never available in my region before.
So at least that's a temporary solution for me. I say temporary, because PayPal just can't be trusted here. It's not their fault, it's the stupid banking regulations the government keep pissing around with, and thus any useful feature of Paypal is likely to be removed without notice at any time.

tb87670: Just consider it an America only DL service, stop bashing it for no reason.

bansama: Wait, because we're not in the US and are complaining about poor service from a distributor that claims to be a worldwide one, is bashing it for no reason? Wow. Just wow.

Indeed, and I don't agree with you. Do something about it.

Until you are in a position to really experience how Impulse treat their international customers, you're not going to understand anyhow so I won't waste my time. As such, you can carry on with your head buried in the sand for all I care. It won't change how crap Impulse's service is for the rest of us -- only Impulse can do that, but they are too busy whining about not being Steam.

I quote myself, do something about it. All you're good at is bitching.
My head isn't in the sand, I specifically said as an America only DL service Impulse is great. Their claims are like Steam claiming to be an effective DRM though they stack it with extra DRM on certain games due to publishers. Ignore the CLAIMS and pay attention to what certain dd's ACTUALLY DO, steam will lose that fight as they have many more claims. Ipulse does good for American customers, oh well then don't use them.

You should've told this to Brad Wardell. ZING! :D

ZING that one was good. In all honesty I don't give a damn about the politics, Impulse treats me right and has good stuff. Only complaints about it is lack of community options like Steam and lack of global support just means there's GamersGate, I think they are european and if not they work well for global game interests.
By the way anyone notice Steam's trying to sell off all COD4 and MW2 stuff they can lately for the new mappack that came out? They're advertising a virus!!!!! :P

Yeah, but the huge problem with that, is that it isn't. All the while they market themselves as a worldwide service, they are open to complaints from their international customers. You're just going to have suck it up and accept that.

Wow can't read? I said what they do, not claim. They don't serve worldwide and that means they don't do it, just claim it. Every service has a downside, GOG don't get new games and I don't hear complaints. Meh, not worth talking anymore it's just going to end up wasting my time. Then again this is a bashing thread, shouldn't come here because it's bound to be full of bad juju.

tb87670: GOG don't get new games and I don't hear complaints.

Yeah, but gog doesn't pose as a distributor of newly released games does it ?
What's wrong with you ? Impulse misrepresents what they're about, obviousouly people will point that out. Just cover your ears, or in this case your eyes, if you don't like justified criticism.

tb87670: Wow can't read? I said what they do, not claim.

Yes, and it's what they are doing that is the cause for the complaints. Here is what they do:
They advertise themselves as being worldwide
They arrange distribution deals for NA only
They then whine that they are not Steam
They make no attempt to expand the range of the aforementioned NA only distribution deals
It's that simple.
Naturally, with you living in the US, you aren't going to be effected. But that doesn't negate the fact that they still do all of the above. Those are not simply claims, those are their actions.
I'd expect this sort of failure to understand from certain other users here, but not you. Oh well.
