Haven't bought anything from steam yet. I bought Saint row the third full package from amazon, using the 5$ credit. I had the game from the THQ bundle but on steam I would have payed a lot more for the DLCs.

So apparently, if you buy Arkham Asylum on Steam right now, you won't get a working CD key, meaning you can't activate it on the double layer DRM Securom. They've updated the page to say it'll work "soon".

Which raises the natural question: WHY IS IT A DAILY THEN?!?

With a 200 euro cap they're certainly not ready for Unusual trading right now, but that's a limitation put on the beta from the looks of it.

I'm just visiting that thread while their sale is on . Beside i was banned from there so i don't have a forum account .

To be honest, bad sale is bad sale.

Previous years, I always bought a few games but so far, the sale is extremely disappointing. Gamersgate picked up the slack and offered some great deals not to mention Amazon.com but the "sales" Steam now offers, is borderline offensive to us Europeans - I bought Far Cry 1 & 2 both for €6 over at Gamersgate and Steam asks a massive €20 and this is just a small example. Full edition Saints Row 3 for €5 on Amazon, Steam asks €15. The list goes on and on and I can't find a single game which I didn't see for a lower price on another site.

But hey, why am I complaining? I much prefer Gamersgate and if I can buy games dirt cheap there or on Amazon (they usually sell Steam keys) then good for me - I kinda like how the tables are turning and the Steam sales is being dwarfed by other digital services. We may finally see some proper competition as a result!

Ever since Valve allowed developers free steam keys, there really is no reason to wait for Steam sales anymore. I did buy a bit this winter, but not because it was necessarily cheap, but becausr I missed it before (eg. KOTOR 2 ). And I really don't care anymore if a game is five or ten bucks if I want it. I'm making such great deals all year around, it sometimes feels extremely cheap.
