keeveek: This is true either, but there are still franchices that sell amazingly for full price. Activision never discounts their games significantly, Bethesda gives bigger discounts only on very old titles, and they still are selling well.
But they also spend millions in marketing to sell these games. The profitability of a games is measured in dollar gained for dollar spend. The "most profitable" games of all time is probably some indie like Minecraft. The whole game probably costs less to make than a single TV spot for MW.

RaggieRags: I hate Steam sales. They come so late I've already spent so much money on gifts that I swear I'm not going to buy anything anymore. And yet I can't help myself to see what's in there. HOLY HELL IS THAT THE ENTIRE DEUS EX COLLECTION FOR 10 EUROS? NGGGHHH!!!
THIS.
Although I have a love/hate relationship with Steam sales, by the time they arrive, I'm almost out of money. This year, GOG took the biggest slice of the cake (or should I say 'wallet'?)

reaver894: DOTA 2 on sale on steam for $22.

LOL if anyone hasn't got it already id be surprised considering how many times its been given away free
The one with the price included as it says on the store page is full early access, the one you have in your steam library is just a spectator client. You can actually play the game when you buy it, rather then just watch them for free.

On that note, I have dota 2 copies, trading for BLOPS1, can wait for BLOPS to go even cheaper, PM if interested.

*Again* I see Psychonauts in a special deal at Steam and rolleyes because I already own it, and *again* that nearly made me miss the 75% off Double Fine bundle as well.

Yeah that Double Fine bundle is nice. Psychonauts, Stacking, Costume Quest, and Iron Brigade for only $9.99. Too bad Iron Brigade is the only one I don't have.
Just got Torchlight II for $10. Sale lasts only 3 more hours
Based on what people are saying around the web, it does seem like Amazon, GreenManGaming, GamersGate, etc. are really competing well with Steam for a lot of these games.

Of course GOG's holiday sale, in my opinion, has been absolutely great as well, but there isn't as strong an overlap.

It seems like some on Steam forums and elsewhere are disappointed in the Steam sale so far, but the deals are still quite good to me. Maybe not quite as amazing as last year or the year before that, but still very, very good.
Just noticed 'Dailys' are more like every 48hours.

Anyone else notice the flash deals - sometimes all 6 have same amount of time remaining. And sometimes there is like a 6 hour gap between the top 3 and bottom 3?. which is correct?.

So, ys origin and ys the oath in something are 75% off. I've heard good things about them, but JRPGs usually bore me to death. Are the Ys games very different and interesting?
New flashie
RPGMaker VX -50% $34.99
The Sims 3 -66% $27.199 (Amazon had/has it for $9.99.....)
Tiny Big -%75 $2.49

Talk about weak
Can anyone else not find Arma X on Steam? Was there yesterday, and today im not able to find it.

there more action/hack and slash but not in the Diablo/Torchlight sort of way since combat is more about chaining hits and making simple combos then your average Jrpg. Best I can do is post a link to some gameplay and let you see if it's your kind of thing
